If you ever have time, would it be possible for a step by step tutorial, I would be very appreciative. I just don't want to screw anything up, I'm not super handy lol. If not it's cool, thanks for your pervious reply.

People look at me as if I'm a freak as they drive by me.

The noise temporarily goes away as I smack on the dash.

People probably wondering why i hate my car so much I'm beating it.

I get the same thing as many of you. Intermittent rattle that sounds above/left of the steering wheel. Dash smacking hasn't worked yet but the inserted plastic piece near the vent gap like above may do the trick. Thanks for letting me know I'm not the only one going crazy from this rattle.

That looks a great idea for the dash with the foam backing. Did you also do the bit of dash surrounding the light switch?

Being a big fan of Wheeler Dealers, For the Love of Cars and the US shows like Overhaulin' I'm actually looking forward to fixing all these prob on my new Mustang.

I'll look at it as an easy intro into the world of restoring cars :D

I did the whole thing (from driver side to passenger side), since I had it all apart to install my nGauge. The foam was $7 for a large roll at Home Depot and it's extremely easy to cut/manage.

I haven't heard a rattle since the install.

You should send that idea into Ford, but then again they might figure the rattle isn"t a Q/C issue,SAD!!!!!!!!!!

I also have the rattle that seems to be coming from top left of steering wheel. Mine seems to go away by either pressing down on the dash or by placing pressure on the tach gauge. I was thinking some padded tape would do the trick but I haven't gotten to it yet. It's the only rattle I've noticed in my first 2.5k miles.

Mine does it.

Seems to be temp (or something) dependent - though I can't nail down the temp. Sometimes makes no noise at all, other times a bit of noise and pushing down on the dash seems to cure it. Every once in awhile it squawks like a sob and no amount of dash pushing will quiet the sucker.

That said, I don't think I've ever had a vehicle (new or used) that didn't make some sort of noise at least once in awhile.
+1. Same deal here, mine occurs mostly on hot day when I switch on AC.

The Dashboard above my steering wheel rattles most of the time when I'm driving it. It drives me nuts. If I push down on it, it stops, and gets quiet. Has anyone else had this problem? Trying to figure out how to fix it. I hate when crap rattles on my car lol.
My car is at the dealer right now for this exact reason. I have a Kia Soul as a loaner :frusty:... Worst. Car. Ever! (in comic book guys voice).

But seriously, just take it in. It's under warranty. I sat through it for 6 months before I couldn't take it anymore and had to have them look at it.
