Yes. Any part that was not included with your car when delivered or as a stand alone option is not allowed in Street. I don't know what the Street Touring rules are regarding strut tower braces but the rules are free on the SCCA web site.

Note: Just to be clear Street does permit some oem or aftermarket changes such as shocks, front or rear (not both) anti-roll bar, brake pads, cat back exhaust, and up to 7 mm wheel offset change. Also some minor "comfort and convenience" changes (this doesn't mean different seats . . . )

Most novice classes I've seen use the PAX (think handicap) index to provide some level of competition between novices in a wide range of cars. Therefore you will have a significantly tougher index if you don't remove the brace.

FS is .810
CAM-C is .830
STU is .844

Therefore if you leave the brace on CAM-C is the better option. That said if your goal is to learn to drive faster then be sure to compare your actual times with any FS cars. Be sure to determine what tires, etc. they have since you need to know how much of any difference was tires versus driving. In your area you may see a lot of FS competition. You might also stop by and watch the Pro Solo and National Tour later this summer at the Wilmington site. The Pro will be well attended by well prepared and driven FS Mustangs (including a several of us in 2015s), Camaros, and BMW's. The tour has fewer Mustang's registered.
