After reading about many of your complaining posts I believe almost all of them are the fault of your dealer, not Ford Australia (aside from the original supply delay notification obviously).

True. Bigger issue is my May delivery for a feb order! Seems a good 3-4 months off what it should be

You're not the only one in the dark Melbnut....I can't even get confirmation from my dealer that they even placed the order with Ford....a great wall of silence.
I talked a while back to the manager and he gave me some tired rubbish, wasn't even interested in taking my name to check anything. He said one was coming in July for a viewing and all those who ordered would get an invite to see it....no invitation has arrived of course.
A friend who ordered one at another Adelaide dealer received his invite a few weeks ago, and it is here at a similar date to my dealers viewing.
I rang the salesman who I paid the deposit to...he is now at a different branch and brand of car......he said he would get back to me....two weeks and all I am hearing is the sound of crickets.
I will be at the dealers next week to have one of our cars serviced.....a face to face and a few terse words could be on the cards.
I dont care too much about the delivery date as long as it is relative to everybody elses order...we ordered in Dec. last year, I dont expect the dealer to call and send flowers every week, I just want some fucker to tell me that Ford have my order and it will arrive when all the others do.

Whether that's true or not you need to remember that the car hasn't been launched yet. It doesn't officially go on sale until the end of the year.

Ford opened up pre orders late last year due to an extremely high number of people going into dealers and placing unofficial orders.

As far as I know this is the first time Ford opened up a pre order system like this.

I can understand your frustration because I have a very long wait too. But to all fairness to FOA they were given their initial instructions from the US, and if things change/or interruptions occur in production it's not their fault.

If FOA had their choice they will be wanting Mustangs in every showroom in the country and prompt delivery for every customer. That's not going to happen for while.

Well I spoke with a ford au rep today.... Interesting conversation. Basically my May car now has a December build and a feb delivery. This is still not good enough given other order timings but what can I do.. Nothing at all. I am in the acceptance stage now.

Apparently they are making 300rhd cars a month.. It is partially deliberate as to make the car slightly rare. There is no expectation that the market will be flooded with mustangs in 1-2yrs as they expect to sell small volume in Australia

Now to start ordering parts

I spoke to this guy for a good 20mins.. i have a feeling tbh that the whole "delivery as they are ordered" is a load of crap and dealers that do more cars for ford are given more allocation. I think they didnt want me to make a fuss. End of day even if they wanted to i dont think there is a way to change the orders given the oversale. Apparently there are 2270ish cars with deposits and some that dont have ETA. Outside of the first batch its pretty much good luck. Supposedly they arent going to produce rhd cars all year round. They will do a run once a year. Which makes no sense and might be bs.

Someone else mentioned on here that ford au expected 1000 actual deposits and had no idea they woudl get so many. This guy echoed that statement.

Ohwell as for parts i am going to start ordering bits and pieces like rear panel and stuff. Will leave the handling and pipes for later in the year.
