Any feelers out there yet that give us an idea of when/if we might see a tune directly from ford for the GT?

Curious to know what sort of numbers would come of it while hopefully keeping warranty (especially knowing what we know about the power numbers of the 2016 camero).

Feel free to shoot me down if this has been asked a million times.

Was there ever any indication that there will be one ? Must have missed it... Ecoboost one was widely advertised though.

It should be clarified that it is Ford Racing that offer tunes. Here's a link to the article: http://www.mustang6g.com/?p=4683

"Ford Racing just announced that they want to help tune your 2015 Mustang EcoBoost, all while maintaining your factory warranty.

Expected to be ready by the end of 2015, Ford is developing custom engine calibrations for the new 2.3L EcoBoost engine, modifying the engine’s performance with Ford’s calibrations loaded into the ECU via a Ford Racing ProCal handset (currently available for other Ford vehicles for $595) that adjusts several engine parameters.

Ford reports that ECU programming adjustments have resulted in performance gains of up to 90 lb.-ft of torque in other Ford vehicles such as the Focus ST."

Rumblings are Q3 or Q4 for the 5.0. The FRPP tune on the 2011-2014 5.0s was only about 10-15 peak hp, but had sizeable gains on the power band down low that were much more than 10-15 hp. Basically it evened out the power delivery.

That and the CAI from PMAS can all add up to a nice gain that hopefully shouldnt affect warranty.

Should be a sticky somewhere, but Ford Motor Company issues the warranty for your car. Ford Racing and Performance Parts are not genuine Ford parts. Your factory warranty is not maintained when using an aftermarket calibration if the new calibration is thought to have caused damage needing repair. FRPP is considered aftermarket.

Emphasis mine. That's just explaining the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act to you. If Ford says the tune caused the motor to blow up, then FRPP would foot the bill within their warranty period. If past the FRPP warranty period, you will be responsible for the fix.

I wouldnt worry so much about aftermarket tunes. Ive had a bama tune on my 11 gt for 30k miles now without a single issue.
Luck of the draw but once you flash your ECU the warranty is over.

My plan for the car is to only add a few things that won't touch the warranty, fix the wheel hop probably, maybe a ford sport side exhaust in a year or two, much wider tires so I never have wheel spin, etc. But, once I hit 5 years, I am going to throw on a ford racing supercharger system and just make the car a monster with all sorts of supporting mods lol. The warranty is a very important part of why I bought new.
