I know that Comp Cams came out with 3 stages of N/A cams and 2 for FI. They showed them at the Sema show last year. I called Comp Cams and asked about them and they said they weren't in the system yet so you couldn't order them. You would think 6 to 7 months later they would have them out. All they told me is that they were told that the cams would be out soon but couldn't give me a date. They told me just to call once a week to see if they were out. Anyone here have anymore information on these cams??

I have been talking with Arron Mick at comp cams. This is what he told me back in March:

Michael, the 2015 cores have been installed and tested but they are not available for sale just yet. All the testing and R&D is done on them but we are waiting to get the cores in from our supplier. We are looking at probably midsummer before that happens. Pricing should be equivalent to our current coyote cams but I don’t have pricing finalized just yet on the 2015’s. I don’t expect there to be an increase. You can purchase through a vendor or direct once the cams are available

just have custom cams ground for yourself...

To what specs? How would you choose lift/duration/overlap and whatever else that goes into designing cams without testing? Just guess?

Lots going on here when altering the engineered stock cams.

I would want to see lift/duration for the different cams offered along with before and after dyno pulls.

If at all possible the pros and cons of changing them because with every modification there are trade offs somewhere, low end, mid range or top end.

These make awesome peak power but kill torque. Especially down low. That's what makes the 15' so much fun. Too each his own I suppose.

How do you know these cams will have the same power curve vs. previous gen 5.0's?

Because Comp Cams posted the results. You lose considerate torque under the curve like a lot guys. I'm not just spitting crap. They posted graphs and their results with stage 2. Stage 3 are still in R&D finalization. But I'd rather have 450/420 with bolt ons than 465/360 with cams. Torque gives grins, that grunt is what makes us all smile.

What type of money is a cam swap parts/labor on the Coyote? I know on my GT500 i was looking at close to $4000

There's that trade off.

I would prefer the torque too.
