the ADM on the GT350 is pennies compared to the next FordGT. I know a dealer now 25K adm on GT350R ready to be built very soon and a 17FORD GT, crazy ADM but it bet they get it.

Just can't get enuff!
I was able to order 2016 Shelby GT350 at MSRP from an awesome dealer. I will use the money that I didn't have to spend for an ADM to buy a 2016 Ford Fiesta ST.
That's a nice pair. I'm a fan of the Fiesta ST especially after autox'ing one before. Fun to drive around twisties!

I have a GT350 ordered, but I want an "R" I was back on the hunt today..I heard all the crazy numbers while calling today, from 10K ADM to 35K ADM. I would go with the 5K ADM but that's it...I will just live with the non "R". if anyone knows where an "R" can be had for a 5K ADM, let me know. I found a 10K ADM very close to home...I hope I do not regret not taking it...I mean 500 "R"s a year for the whole country is nothing...we all may be shooting ourselves next year, or the guys like me that pay a ADM may be crying the blues....

Exactly my point. There are plenty of buyers that will pay the ADM and they're going to get their cars and enjoy them while most of us won't. No big deal and no reason to be so bitter that you won't or can't pay an ADM. If i had a million in the bank, I probably wouldn't care if I paid extra to have what I want. Sucks for the "working folks" like me that don't have the extra to spend, but if someone doesn't mind blowing a few extra thousands, don't blame the dealer. That's business. And I know this for fact, that customer couldn't care less when he gets those keys and is grinning ear to ear.
Most people who have a mil in the bank got there NOT making bad deals. I won't pay adm for this non collectable car

Exactly. If they are the type that earned it, they wait until the time is right to make the deal. I've been dealing with people like this and their expensive original shelbys and Cobras all day for the last 9 years. I've been talking to them about the new gt350 as well.

An ADM is an insult?? Interesting. Can't see how?
You can't see how a dealer gouging a customer over msrp is not an insult? Let me guess.... you are in the car business. LOL

Gouging? Where does it say anywhere the dealer is obligated to sell at MSRP?

MSRP is SUGGESTED retail price. SUGGESTED. Just because you can walk in and get a Focus at MSRP and below doesn't mean you can on a limited run GT350 eve at MSRP with high demand.

It's life, pay the piper or don't play. The whining and accusations are ridiculous now. There are 242.5 million adults 18 and over in the US and 5,000 of these cars build for 2016. That's 48,500 people for every 1 of these cars. With that ratio there will always be someone willing to pay more to be the firs ton the block with a new model.

Believe me in my profession I know plenty of people who would pay $5-10k ADM on a car for bragging rights alone for the image/prestige of it alone. No common sense, but the money to back it up to be dumb and pay ADM.

As mentioned before, it's just like a house. Some people will only pay what it's worth, some will pay over asking to get that specific house. Just because you turned down a deal that the seller was asking over list price doesn't mean the next guy in wait won't pay it.

My dealer said they were telling the people on the list for the Ford GT that the ask would be at least DOUBLE MSRP. One of the 5 people on the list dropped off because it was too much, but the others were still interested.

I'm keeping an open mind on the GT350 and I will see what my dealer wants before making a judgment. The car mag and online reviews will affect my decision as well. I expect it to be a great car and it will probably be worth it to me to pay something extra. Just hoping the dealer and I can reach an agreement.

The way things are now....dealers sell at what they think they can get.

If Ford had it their way, We'd buy it at MSRP or below depending on manufacturer incentives and customer loyalty incentives. And we'd buy direct from Ford...no Middle man.

Remember...FORD made this attempt once a little over a decade ago. The greedy dealership franchises fought them to stop any dealer owned networks. In fact what Ford did own at the time as dealerships had to be sold and set territory boundaries established.

If anything the dealerships need to be ditched in favor of a model that is more favorable to our modern times.

A distributorship model is more in tune with what people want today.

Well frankly I don't buy that argument that if you could buy from Ford direct they would "do the right thing" and sell at MSRP to everyone. They would only increase the price across the board to sell to everyone at that price. Corporations are after profits and pleasing investors, not giving consumers the best deal.

You still have the issue like the Ford GT that the GT350 is a limited run car, unlike a regular Mustang that you can get at will, and you will have more people who want one than they can build in a year (whether it is getting the parts from 3rd parties or space on the line or whatever the reason is that it was capped at 5,000).

Someone needs to start a thread listing all the Dealerships charging ADM(hmm... an idea). This way everyone on this forum can see which dealerships NOT to do business with in the future.

Granted, but highly doubtful. However, lets just say they did. It would likely not be in the 17.5 k to 20k+ range that the dealerships are currently trying to butt rape people for.

Nor would it be for the 100% markup that some dealers on here have said they are going to ask for the new GT's.

If its more like what Tesla is or what Saturn used to be....Then perhaps even Google cars and then Apple Automotive in the not too distant future..... You Still wouldn't see such a gross Markup.

This is a problem only seen with dealerships and only driven by greed. If it were truly driven by a demographic model like the one FORD used to determine their MSRP against Production costs and Targeted income groups. Then you would not see such extreme ADM's. What would be reasonable is absorbing the cost of the dealer guaranteed allocation and maybe the cost of shipping between their network of dealerships. So maybe 1k to 3k... Maybe. MSRP would still be the goal to both net a dedicated customer and represent the brand's promise of surprising affordability for this vehicle. Anything outside of that is misrepresenting what FORD stated publicly.

Never pay ADM for a car that will be made in the thousands. Remember 2007 GT 500 now there are close to 40K of them out there. Dealers tried the same thing back then. Some people paid but most did not. Stay FIRM ! Also remember there will be another GT500.
Chevy tried to sell the new Z/28 @ MSRP and most sat on the lots. They finally had to discount those things $8k and up , not sure how many are gathering bird crap as I write this.
My point is $60k is the break point for these pony cars.

Yep... if practically no one paid ADM, dealers would seldom add it.

Problem is getting the masses to unite.
