I really like all the keyless features to be honest, but I have the peace of mind of knowing that my FOB is ten stories worth of concrete away from my car. I don't think I'm under any risk for that particular issue.

It's in an ugly green, but I'm going to try it out. My car is usually parked in the garage, but every blue moon It's parked outside overnight if I'm doing extended maintenance on my wife's car or if I have a paint project going on. Those are the nights where this Faraday cage would come in handy.

There are some that are cheaper, but they are made for phone sized devices. I wanted something that was key fob sized. But, yeah, if it doesn't work as advertised I will let everyone know.

I looked at these. The cheaper one has some negative reviews on efficacy (one of the reviewers is a fake), the more expensive one has no negative reviews.

I am getting the cheaper one first.

I just took the BATTERY out of my spare key and was still able to unlock my car.
Primary key was inside the house when I tried this.

It is possible to amplify the signal of the fob to trick the car into thinking you are right by it, but do you think these guys were smart enough to do that?

Spartan - the cop said he wasn't sure how they got in and doubted they would say how they did it.

I've been looking into buying the materials to build a small faraday box to keep both the fobs in when I'm home.

I would also like to know if the keyless/proximity feature can be turned off.

Ok. Some good news.
I just tried this product I had in the kitchen - metallised food bags that cost 2 bucks for a 30 pack.
My car door would not open with the key in it and me standing right next to the door.

I'm attempting to cancel my order :-)

I made up a bag using a plastic sandwich bag and aluminum duct tape and some loose aluminum foil.

The buttons didn't work (pushing them from outside the sealed bag ) I did order a military spec faraday bag though. I'm gonna use this til it shows up
