This. People feel the louder the car is, the fast it should be.Generally speaking when you have a loud exhaust it sounds like you are pressing the throttle harder than you actually are. Your brain correlates the exhaust note to speed but because you aren't actually pressing the throttle as hard as before you feel the car is going slower.
OP you haven't lost any hp. Even with no catback you wouldn't lose hp. As for the farty sound, look for a leak. The exhaust does rasp but doesn't sound farty.
