So I just bought my 2015 Mustang V6, it is factory ordered so I have to wait a few weeks unfortunately. I am wondering if the Roush Axleback would void the warranty on the car?

Also, does the axleback actually improve HP or torque?
What is the best CAI for a V6 mustang in terms of power?

Congrats on the order! As for your questions...

1) An axleback will not void your warranty EXCEPT for the coverage of the stock catback. This is because you must modify (cut) the stock exhaust in order to install the axleback.

2) An axleback on the V6 GREATLY improves torque and to a lesser extent hp. I myself gained .4sec on a 0-60 run with my custom axleback. The stock muffler are very restrictive.

3) Currently Airaid is the only company I know of that has a CAI for the 15 V6. Not many options out right now.

Thank you, I can't wait until it arrives.

Okay, I think it will be worth it then. .4 Is a great improvement, so I will definitely be ordering the Roush then (mainly for sound).
I think i might wait on the CAI and wait for K&N to release one. Thanks again Zack, I greatly appreciate it!

I didn't see any gains from my Flowmaster setup, in fact it seems like it's slower.

And there is NO WAY IN HELL I would ever recommend this muffler setup to anyone in a V6- I drones like a mf-er.

I had it mostly fixed, but the CAI brought it back - I'll probably be sending it back.

Listen to Zack - he seems like he's got everything smoothed out. Maybe I'll fed-ex my car to him and tell him to fix it for me...

Hmm, I already have the Airaid CAI and honestly, I've been very pleased with its overall performance so far. Idk if its added the 10 supposed hp or not, but the response on take off is a bit better for sure. And an eventual BBK throttle body will help with it to. Does add some extra noise, especially in the cabin, but I haven't felt like its a drone noise. For me, it really only gets loud when I put the pedal down, which doesn't drone for long.
I also plan on getting the Roush axleback aswell, and eventually following with BBK Shorty headers. And if then after that, there's drone, meh. If it gets that noticeable, then that's what turning up the radio is for :headbang:

An axleback really wont give you any noticeable power gains by itself. It's something you're really doing for the sound. Pretty much the same situation with a CAI, better looks, improved sound and maybe a touch better fuel economy.

Yea almost half a second from an axelback seems unrealistic. I don't think I gained that much from a full catback. But those roush axelbacks do sound good on the V6

I shaved off about 2 seconds on my 0-60 with my roush axle backs so it is possible.

Lol you sure that wasn't as a result of lighter floor mats?

I don't know if you where joking or if that was suppose to be .2 seconds....

I know it sounds hard to believe but my .4sec increase wasn't from just one 0-60 run.... I did repeated runs with near the same conditions and saw the same .4 decrease in time. I even removed my custom axleback and replaced it with the OEM mufflers and saw a increase of about the same .4 seconds. I don't quite know how I managed .4 better with just an axleback but it wasn't a fluke or incorrect data point either.

Hey Kyle,

When can we expect the Roush CAI. I have been waiting patiently since Feb. This past Saturday I asked my Roush Dealer where I bought the car. He called and updated me on Monday and Roush says "It will not be released till October" Can this really be true? I have a Roush RS and would hate to start mixing components due to availability.

And Yes if you go with the Roush axel-backs it takes 500 miles before the Drone starts to fade. I have 3,000 miles since they were installed and they sound really good now. But, the 1st 100 miles were horrible Drone.

Zack, would you happen to have dyno numbers?

What do you guys think would sound better, a straight pipe or just the roush axleback?

Unfortunately no... There are few companies with a chasiss dyno in my area. The companies that do have one do not give me the best of vibes to trust them with my car for the dyno run... One day I do plan on making it to a dyno though.

And listen for yourself!! My delete with resonated tips!

That sounds really nice. Does it have a crackle noise like the Roush? Would straight piping it void the warranty as well?

There is almost no reason to worry about warranty because of your exhaust. Especially if it's just an axle back
