As an update, several runs yesterday were *way* faster. And I haven't even installed the tune and CAI yet (they are coming in later today). 5.4 seconds.

Maybe I still had too much of the dealer's 87 octane in there or something. This is muuuuch better. It felt quicker, too. I will report after the tune and CAI is installed.

Your car is still breaking in, you still haven't broken 1000mi yet. At least on that screenshot. Once you get to 1500-3000, the car feels much better. Where in Florida are you?

Nice results. I've only done one 0-60 run since switching back to my summer tires. Didn't launch it, traction completely on, and got wheel hop on the shift to 2nd. Time was 6.0.

Considering how it went down I'm happy with the results.

Cool, you should check out the cars and coffee taking place around Tampa on Sunday. Check the local section here for more details. If it wasn't a 3 hour drive for me, I'd do it. Otherwise, I'll be there for the next one. (We rotate every month)

After tune, it's able to do 0-60 in 5.2 seconds, so far. Definitely different.

Also, the butt dyno says this car has picked up a boatload of torque. Top end is still a bit soggy, though, even if it's somewhat better than pre-tune. I guess that's just the way this engine rolls. Shift before 6000 RPM, for sure.

This is with the Performance tune, 93 octane.

I test drove the PP, in auto. Didn't feel much different, except it handled the twisties a LOT better. Less body roll. And honestly, I didn't care for the wheels that came with it either -- not that I care much for the stock ones on the base, either, but still, I'd have wound up replacing them no matter what.

Now, when I test drove a base model in manual. Oh yeah. That felt different. You could lift the car up, it was nuts. I was kind of hoping the dealer WOULDN'T meet my price on the automatic, because then I could have justified getting the manual. If the paddle shifters weren't there, I probably would have gone manual anyway, and just listened to the bitching while I tried to teach a woman who couldn't give two shits about cars how to drive stick.

But yeah, I know I was buying basic, and that comes with a price. Still, for basic models, the 2015s handle really well and come very well equipped. I love this car; as a daily driver, you just can't beat it at this price point. But I'd like a little extra power anyway. So hopefully the tune will satisfy.

And someday when I'm loaded with cash (we can dream, right?) I'll get myself a nice, pretty Shelby.
So, I think I missed it, but what tune did you get?

As mentioned in the OP dystopic has a base (like me). He can only adjust steering feel, no performance modes. Or have I just not found them? And again as a daily driver this car is pretty quick. My last car was an 09 lancer 2.4 N/A fwd in a 5spd. I love having the ability to drop the clutch in an empty parking lot and spin 180°. (With traction control on). It's really a good feeling.

I have the Bama tune(s).

As to the performance modes, you *KIND OF* have them. The performance modes are really just traction and stability control settings. If you hit the traction control button, it turns off traction control but LEAVES stability control on. If you press and hold the traction control button for like 10 seconds, while stationary, it turns off BOTH traction and stability control. This is the same as the most aggressive performance mode setting on the premium car, and will net you the fastest acceleration times. You can also shred tires with this setting - it's fun.

You still have steering feel settings, of course, with the steering button.

Also, this car is now able to get down to 5.0 seconds flat, 0-60, but has NOT cracked the 5 second barrier. Looks like I'll need to do the downpipe and intercooler next, and see if that will take me into the 4s.

Gotcha. Yea I was aware of the 5 second advance trac process. It gets loose with it on pretty nicely though. My only mod thus far is the turbosmart bov. The girlfriend loves it. Can't wait to get a few mods and a tune under my belt.

Honestly, like the gauge pack for the PP cars, the "drive modes" is a bit gimmicky for what's just some traction control/stability control settings. The steering feel is definitely nice, though. Glad they let us base drivers keep that one.

The drive modes make a big difference. Especially if you have an auto. My throttle response and shifting patterns change drastically between modes
