got a partial xpel ultimate bra and cquartz uk applied

Went to a local detailer and got a partial xpel ultimate clear film and cquartz uk coating applied. It came out looking good. If I did it again I'd probably get the full front clip covered since you can see a line across the hood where the film ends, but it's silver so it doesn't stand out unless you really look for it. Overkill for ingot silver? Probably..but ease of cleaning and peace of mind make it worth it for me

Did you add any Xpel to the rear fender in front of the rear tires (where it flares out)? I asked the dealer to do that whole area, but they only did some of the flare, but didn't do the "rocker" area below it. I found that area on the rocker just below the rear quarter panel is getting pummeled by stone chips. Just an FYI.

I didn't, I had considered the possibility, but didn't think it was worth it. I'll look into it now though, thanks for the tip

The guy I went to is the only certified cquartz finest dealer in my city though. I'm thinking he's a little more pricey than some others

Pictures look amazing! And youll be glad you got a clear bra. I regret not getting it on my current car.

Why did you choose UK over Finest?

Mainly cause the cheaper cost, and I figured with the silver paint as long as I keep up with it, apply Reload every few months etc, UK would be sufficient. We'll see if I regret it a year from now or not, since it doesn't have the same 2 year warranty

You will like UK its a great coating, and you sound like you know about upkeep with the coating so you'll be fine. Reason I asked is because UK was developed for colder climates, and I saw you were from TX.

My detailer used cquartz uk and all carpro products on my car and it still looks great 5 months later. I'm assuming most of that 1k was for the clear bra? I had everything done and it was only $700. $250 of that was just for the leather treatment too, I could have gotten away with $500 for the exterior only.

The only difference between regular cquartz and UK is UK's ability to dry in cooler temps. After it sets there isn't any difference.

Yeah the xpel was pretty expensive, which is why I only went for a partial bra. It doesn't help that the hood on our cars is pretty massive.

Should not have an effect. The UK is strong enough of a coating compared to other big names and by the time it starts to wear out, it will be time for another detail anyway. Was more inferring, not trying to freak you out!

From my knowledge of these products. Depending on when that specific batch was made. In 2014 they updated their formula lasting 2+ years. So depending on how old the stock was that the detailer used, UK only had a 1+ year life. Since reformula they added more of the active ingredient (SiO2). There are slight differences in each CQ and UK. UK easier to apply, slightly richens the appearance of darker colors (slightly). work time is longer than CQ.

But yes major difference is application in colder climates(worktime). But if that was the only thing different why would Detailers in warm climates even carry UK?
