I still haven't seen any definitive answer on whether a dealer can see that a car has been tuned, if there are a certain number of cycles that the tune shows up in the codes after flashing to stock, and I haven't seen an actual first hand experience of someone who returned to stock tune and was denied a warranty claim.

The only comments I've seen are from ppl who really have no idea how it works
From what I understand they can see how many times the ecu was flashed. On my 2006 they could only see it was reset so all you had to do was say you disconnected the battery. I heard that isn't true now.

We know that's true on the Coyotes, but no one has confirmed it on the Ecoboost yet. Of course dealers will say they can tell, but no member that has flashed their car to stock and taken it in has reported any issues yet.

Before we ordered, I took the bride to the dealer to drive the different models. First up was the GT, when we finished, I asked if she wanted to drive the Ecoboost next. She said:"Why would anyone buy a car this beautiful with a economy motor in it?" I guess that answered that. She drives it in core urban traffic exclusively and gets 17.x MPGs. I truly believe these cars will be tamed down someday soon as ford is gonna have a real problem making the CAFE standards. At least I will have something to pass on when I quit driving........

thxultra;57 . Lets all go back to bashing Camaro's now or Challangers... Would be fun to blow by a R/T in a ecoboost now wouldn't it be :) Think that is quite doable too for not much money or risk :)[/QUOTE said:
Ya,Take a 4 banger Eco Boost and go find a HellCat Challanger, see how well that works out for you, just make sure your seatbelt is tight so he doesn't suck you out of the car,Eco Boost might have a place, but it is NOT a high performance engine like a V8 /V6,and all the BS in the world won"t change that.

Mine to! I will say though, it would be nice if dealers had an eco with PREMIUM gas in it to test drive. I think that the 13% loss hurts their sales.

I think it does because even before I modded the car there is no way someone would have driven my car and said it felt sluggish or lifeless

5.3 sec 0 to 60 stock is far from sluggish or lifeless :) Yes the GT is quicker but the ecoboost is still pretty quick.

Here is the best article (an analogy) to explain the difference between choosing a 5.0L GT or the Ecoboost Mustang:

...except for the fuel discussion which will not really come into play on the Mustang unless the cost of fuel goes astronomical again....

Describe astronomical? because astronomical for me is 3.89 a gallon for 91 octane.
I expect it to be over $4 a gallon while I still have my Mustang. Honestly don't expect these prices to last hopefully I'm wrong.
