From what I understand they can see how many times the ecu was flashed. On my 2006 they could only see it was reset so all you had to do was say you disconnected the battery. I heard that isn't true now.I still haven't seen any definitive answer on whether a dealer can see that a car has been tuned, if there are a certain number of cycles that the tune shows up in the codes after flashing to stock, and I haven't seen an actual first hand experience of someone who returned to stock tune and was denied a warranty claim.
The only comments I've seen are from ppl who really have no idea how it works
