Shaker Audio - differences between models?

Hi all,

I took a look at a 2015 Premium GT Convertible yesterday to check out the basic features of the car, and noticed a few things that I didn't like so much.

I think this has been mentioned before, but is the "basic" Shaker really quiet?

I had driven in on my 2007 with the Shaker 500, and I had to turn up the 2015 to ~75% to make it sound like ~40% in my 2007.

Is there a volume difference with the "high end" Shaker?

Also, regarding the touch screen. The whole thing felt a little sluggish to me. With the 2016 SYNC upgrade, are we expecting new screen hardware as well?

I had a normal Shaker 500 in my 2011 (not the upgraded Shaker 1000). It was about twice as loud as the "Shaker Pro" in my 401a 2015.

This is troubling... I really have no time or desire to try aftermarket work on the audio system.

Any chance with the infotainment upgrade that this will be fixed, too?

If I had to guess, I'd guess they would keep the same amps that they are currently using.

But, who knows - is all be speculation at this point.

I have the shaker pro 401a group. The only time when it is not loud is if I am streaming or playing bluetooth audio from the iphone and the vloume on the phone is down. Other wise, radio, usb, cd etc are super loud and I have to keep the bass 100% down or maybe half way down or the bass just overpowers. The system overall sounds great, while I wish there were more eq settings or something, the people that rag on it are nuts.

I had the top end mach360 sound setup in my old 2001GT (which I still have) and the old one sounds like an old 80's boom box by comparison.

Yeah it is subjective, so good thing I think it awesome. Cause thats all the matters.

I have a GT Premium, by far the worst sound system in any vehicle Ive ever owned. I drive a 2003 Chevy 4500 for work, an absolutely stripped vehicle-all it has is am/fm, but I take my mp3 player and my fm transmitter with me and it BLOWS AWAY the "Shaker". A.F.G.

First word "absolute", last word "garbage". If you like no bottom end whatsoever, this is the system for you!

My 2012 Kia Sportage also had a far superior audio system for clarity. When I upgraded the speakers to JL TL series and amplified them, it improved even more. I need at least a 7 band EQ in this Mustang to get the sound up to snuff, which I'm planning on integrating soon. Hopefully it cleans the audio up sufficiently.
