Hello,

When I first got my Mustang, I ordered a squared setup of 20x8.5. The rear wheels are flushed with the fender, however the front wheels are not. I am purchasing eibach pro lowering springs and want to ensure I have a flushed look all around.

My question is, is there any con's of running spacers only in the front? AM and Late Model only sell 5mm spacers. So does that mean I can stack 2 or do I have to purchase a 10mm spacer instead?

We went with 12.6mm spacers up front, and I do not feel safe with them on the stock studs. (we went with longer studs)

I am not so sure I would recommend 10mm spacers without ensuring the thread engagement.

I'm assuming your 12.6 spacers came with longer studs?

They did not.

We had to do some research and order some.

We went with a 1/2" style.

I put 5mm spacers on the front of my car, and that is right at the edge of my comfort zone.

I am using 20mm bolt on adapters on the front of my car. I have the 19" by 8.5" MMD Zevens from AM, which have a 35mm offset. It still looked sunken when lowered on Eibach Pro-kit springs. So now with an effective offset of 15mm, it is perfect with the oem 255/40 PP Pirellis.

Ugh, spacers just make the car look terrible.

Lol! So 5mm in front is safe with the stock lug nuts?
now what about putting it on the back as well? 5mm and maybe even a 7mm with stock lugs?

Up to a 5mm your safe on your factory studs because you can get the proper amount of turns on the lug nuts. Ive done a 8 mm and it worked with a thing nose lug nut to ensure more turns as well with the factory studs.

Now for a 10MM you either need to use a adapter which you can get custom CNC ( ive done it for multiple clients before) or you need to get longer studs and have those installed on the hub prior to installing the spacer and wheels.

hmm so you were able to get 8mm on front and rear with a drop on the car.

"Ive done a 8 mm and it worked with a thing nose lug nut to ensure more turns as well with the factory studs."

and im guessing you bought the 8mm fr/rear online? ebay?

I also have a similar setup and before lowering the car with prokit I thought it looked bad without 5-8mm spacers in the front. Now that it's lowered the front wheels seemed to have come out a bit so no need for that spacer which makes me happy. Spacers aren't great. Maybe the same will be true for you.

Care to share that research Kelly?
