When I went to put my winter wheel/tires on a few weeks ago, we noticed the front rims rubbed against the calipers, so we left the stock all seasons on the front. The rears fit fine, so we put the winter wheels on those. Its been driving fine so far, but only had to drive in the snow once.

I picked up some 1/4" spacers as my dad said that would probably work to clear the calipers as long as we could get the lug nuts on tight enough. What do you guys think, try them out or just keep the A/S on the front? btw, I've never used spacers before and my car is a 16 with the stock 18" wheels and my winter setup is 11 mustang 18" wheels with Cont. DSW tires.

1/4" is about 6mm which should be fine.

Spacers would be no problem to use. Your dad is exactly right tho. make sure you are getting at least 6 turns out of the lugnuts. With a 6mm spacer, you should be able to get at least that. It would be ideal if the spacers are hub centeric to your car and your wheels. This is to avoid any vibrating. Tho if it is not, a simple hub ring will do the trick.
