We shall see when we compare it with a US spec at night. A tri bar bar lit LED will definitely look better than tri bar glass reflection.

I do wonder how easy it would be to reinstall though, i mean the tribar wouldnt be illegal here just look at all the current drls. Might just be a wiring harness and globe, wouldnt imagine they would change the whole head light. Just look at the U.S cars, the wiring is there for the lit sill plates, the holes are there for the sub.

We will only know when people start modding their cars next year.. just wish we had what we wanted for the 60k spent and not muck around to change it.. time will tell!

Im sure the euro guys will start modding in the coming months and we should have an easy answer by the time our cars get here

In Victoria at least you can't drive with fog lights (driving lights) on unless there is fog. So i don't see how the European version of DRLs would be allowed.

But see there is a difference, there not considered fog lights, they are as the name says, daytime running lights. If they were illegal, why does the fgx falcon have them as standard on all models bar the base model.

HID light also usually require the washer, as per ADR. I don't think we have yet seen a solution for this, hopefully it's nicely integrated into the bumper.

Probably a change in the wiring as well to swap the drls from the foglights to the tri bar

IIRC its got to do with light wattage.

The Toyota 86 GT and GTS models had a problem where the GTS's DRL's were those slanted LED's in the main lights, with high wattage fog lights in the fake vents below.

The base model GT actually had the DRL's as low wattage bulbs in the same location as the GTS's fog lights. So cops in WA were pulling blokes over, only to be shown in the manual that those lights were indeed lower wattage DRL's. :headbonk:

Either way I am sure that someone will be able to mod it so that we can have what we need. Just need to work out the most cost effective way to do so. Group buy anyone?
