Had a little time to kill this morning and some black Plasti-dip left over. My goal is to make all of the chrome trim gauge and vent bezels, door pulls and shifter surround the same satin silver/aluminum look that the center stack knobs, door grabs and 3 spokes on the steering wheel are. Basically get it a little closer to the look of the GT350 inside. I just really don't like chrome.

BUT, I have always thought it was ridiculous to bring attention to the friggin dual cup holders with a chrome surround. Come on! So, for that, I just want it to fall away as much as possible. How best to do that? Hit it satin black with Plasti-dip!

I dig it. Now your eye doesn't go to cup holders when you look inside.

I'd love seeing all the chrome pieces black, I don't like chrome either.

I did this a few weeks after getting my car. I hate chrome.

That looks fantastic. They should offer a blacked out interior from the factory. I think it looks perfect.

looks nice murdered out, but I do prefer he chrome myself, coming from owning a Harley to a mustang, chrome was the thing with most Harley owners. sold the Harley after a few near death experiences in a period of three weeks then bought the mustang... couldn't be happier

Can you tell us did you pull all the chrome pieces or paint them in the car?
Yes please do tell, would love to know how you went about it. I'm hoping to find a DIY for taking off all the chrome bezels. I pulled on them with a bit of force and they don't seem like they want to pull out like the previous car. Just don't want to pull and break.

Interesting. I find the plastichrome pieces tacky myself. I just wish they were all brushed/polished aluminum or satin nickel finish. I like the contrast of brightwork but chrome as stated above says "Harley" or 50's 60's cruiser. Maybe someone will come out with an interior kit for this stuff eventually. :)

I removed all of the chrome to paint them. You have to remove the aluminum dash piece that houses the vents to remove them. The gauge bezel needs to be removed to get those chrome rings off as well.

Good to know, thank you. From what I have found in a search, the whole alluminum dash panel removes fairly easy. Do you have to remove the lower panel to the right of the glovebox first?

Yes, it has one clip on the panel that actually clips into the aluminum dash panel.

Actually the two pieces that bug me the most are the gear shift surround and the cup holders... I also wish someone would make a gear shift surround that removed "Sync," though with it blacked out it isn't as noticeable.

At a minimum, those two pieces may be in my future.
