2015 v6 3.7L Engine vs 2014 V6 3.7L

Hey Guys, I am new to the mustang family! Just got a 2015 V6. Ive been looking at all the mods out there performance wise. As you all know there is not much out there. My question is, the 2014 v6 & 2015 v6 are pretty much the same engine. Can I use Performance parts from the 2014 engine on my 2015? Or could that cause damage to the engine? :ford:

Which parts? The main issue would be getting them to fit. They would probably need to be modified in some way

What I want to start with is cold air intake, which i can use the Airaid cold air intake.
A good tune which i can get from the Bama X4. But what if i want downpipes?

Downpipes? do you mean catback or axelback exhaust?

Not sure on that one. Dimensions are probably off though. I think the change from solid rear axle to IRS would change the design somewhat. Also this car might have wider dual exhaust exit locations

You might be able to use some of the axleback system if you modify them. I debating getting the v6 borla stingers from the previous gen and having an exhaust shop customize them to make them fit... Only reason I would do this though is because borla does not make them for the 2015 right now.

Well we don't really have any concrete dyno information for any mods yet. The exhaust system seems to be the most popular upgrades. Shorty headers allegedly make a good deal more low end torque and even axle back exhausts are providing decent gains because the stock mufflers are so restrictive.

I haven't seen any "bolt on" mid-pipes that are available yet. BBK lists a set of shorties and long tube headers, but no mid-pipes. Note on their site:

A Short Mid Pipe is required specifically for the 2015 model to complete installation. But there isn't one listed:

The shorties will bolt to the existing stock exhaust. They're probably not going to sell a lot of long tubes without mid-pipes. I doubt that an earlier model mid-pipe for the long tubes will bolt right up. Everything else is cat back or axle back. Good Luck!

I've got dyno numbers for my mods in another thread .

As far as last gen parts go, you could modify them to fit. As previously stated, the IRS changes the pipping for catbacks/ axle backs. Roush and Flowmaster have a system for our cars and Airaid has a CAI. Suspension wise, you got your Steeda/Eibach/FRP springs along with a bunch of bracing and IRS components that will fit all cars.

With the new IRS in our cars, I've heard that a panhard bar is no longer needed when installing lowering springs. Do you know if this is true?

That is the link to FireHive dyno results. No way that dyno is accurate though.
