So today I washed the car with a unapproved Ford water and Ford unapproved soap and Ford unapproved wax getting it ready to hit a car show tonight .. Gee I hope the paint doesn't fade on the way to the car show or I'll get blamed for that also ..
Almost made me loose my lunch, ROTFLMMFAO!! :headbang::cheers::thumbsup:

Had a call from my Dealer today telling me they DID NOT turn down the claim and they had a letter from Ford to prove it .. So I called Ford again and they said the Dealer turned down the claim ... I read the letter they sent the Dealer ..They ( Ford ) in the letter said that I caused the Damage to the inside door panel by using a non approved Ford cleaner ... Really ? a wash cloth with plain water is a non approved Ford cleaner ? First time I ever heard that one .. The dealer said I need to call Ford again and make another claim , Ford tells me on the phone that I can not make a claim the dealer has t do it ..I feel like a ping pong ball ...

Anyway I now have proof that Ford is lying ...I'm to the point of finding this hole thing funny , funny that ford doesn't want to pay for a cheap part and 2 to 3 tenths labor to replace it in order to keep a customer happy and maybe sell me another car down the road .. So today I washed the car with a unapproved Ford water and Ford unapproved soap and Ford unapproved wax getting it ready to hit a car show tonight .. Gee I hope the paint doesn't fade on the way to the car show or I'll get blamed for that also ..

On a side note : I went to the Dealer and went to the detail Department and guess what ? they don't use Ford approved cleaner either !!!

Hey smokinzx14r,

I've read through the thread, and would like to take a look into the situation. Could you please PM your VIN, name, and phone number? If there is a case regarding this, I'd like to see what details I can find on the back and forth. Provided you still have your Mustang, I'll look into my options to see how I can further assist.

Jeff

So the dealer says Ford turned down the claim and the dealer has a letter that shows and proves that Ford turned it down.

And then Ford says the dealer turned down the claim? WT? :headbonk:

LMAO yea I thought this was a hilarious and witty response smokinzx14r

And hope Ford will fix it soon. It seems like such a small petty issue that wouldn't cost them much. I'd figure losing your future business would cost them more than finding a resolution to a very fixable problem.

Stuff like this drives me crazy too, especially if it feels like people keep passing the buck. I had a crazy billing issue with Verizon where they accidentally over billed me by almost $800 and that took months to fix even tho it was their error and kept re appearing after they "fixed" it... Kept getting passed back and forth like a ping pong ball too so I feel your pain :frusty:

Just got a call from Ford from a very nice young lady .. She told me they were not blaming me for the damage and only saying that there is damage and they can't say who or what caused it .. There for they ( Ford ) will not replace or repair it because it wasn't a factory defect ..I'm happy they are not blaming me and I'm happy with the semi apology for the poor commutation between Ford the Dealer and myself about this problem .. She gave me her number and ask me to call if I had any others problems down the road ..

So as it stands now no repair , If get gets worse I will just pull the upper door panel and dye it or replace it myself ..Like I said before I can live with it , it's not all that bad .. If I didn't point it out to you , you most likely would not see it .. My biggest problem was how all this was handled ..

For those who think I went to the dealer ship with a bad attitude you would be very wrong .. The Dealer told Ford I was a very nice guy , friendly and easy to deal with .. I own a very large website much like this one with 1000s of members and readers , If you have ever run a website like this one you know all to well you have to have a thick skin to deal with all the members ..

End of story , thanks to all that did try to help ..

Damn, that's a bummer. I was hoping when Ford Service reached out to you on here that they could escalate it to a department that would fix it for you. I think it's a bit of a cop out still by Ford as a corporate entity to let your problem slip through the cracks. It seems more like a public relations move rather than a real resolve to the situation.

However there's not a whole lot you can do besides chalk this one up to life experience unfortunately, if they're not willing to work with you.

And I'm sure the pics won't do the damage justice. I know even with scratches in the paint and scuffs on the interior etc. Sometimes it's hard to actually see the damage cuz it can't be captured in a pic the same way as in real life. But it would be interesting to see as a reference point.

Good luck tho. You've still got an amazing performance car overall and hopefully that blemish can be fixed cheaply in the future. But I'm not sure if the way they handled it can be erased from your head as easily lol

Back in the 90s I got a new Mustang , after washing it for the first time I found bad paint damage so I took it back to the dealer .. The dealer told me I wrecked the car and fixed it and now you want us ( ford ) to fix your screw up .. I got the ford Zone rep involved as well as ford corp ... They told me too bad and hung up on me and would not talk to me again ..

At that time I swore I would never buy another ford ever !!! And I didn't until I saw the New 2015 mustang .. I traded that car in ( lemon ) and got another brand..

I have had my new GT for 4 weeks or so .. When I picked it up they didn't clean the car , they let me take it home and said to bring it back and they would detail the car .. I noticed that there was a rub mark on the drivers side inside plastic door panel but I was thinking it would just clean off ..It didn't .. I took it back twice for them to take pictures to send to ford ..Ford told me they would not fix it , that I was the cause of the damage ..Starting to sound like the last time I dealt with ford motor company ..

I know it may sound like a pretty minor problem and it is , I can live with the rub mark BUT I CAN NOT live with being called a liar...

End of story is I will be trading the car in and get a new Dodge , I will take the hit on the trade and never buy a Ford ever again .. Even if they gave me a Ford I would sell it and get a different brand ..
This isn't a Ford issue, this is a DEALER issue.

I had an Audi dealer do the same, changed dealers. I had a new Audi S4, the 2nd gear sincro went on me under normal driving. Can you imagine how much a dealer wants to fork out 5k for a new tranny? The dealer I bought my car refused and blamed me. Took it to another dealer and they agreed to submit it to Audi and they fixed it under warranty and now I buy cars through them.

I have already changed from 2 Ford dealers and I have not even ordered my Mustang yet, insuring my experience is a good one is important to me, so the dealer state of mind is critical. Find a 4+ star dealer and they will treat you right.

Now.. Head on over to the challenger forums and poke around the technical issues threads, then you wont be going over there anymore, its a never ending amount of issues that really the Mustang just doesn't have near as many.

I am looking at a new muscle car, Camaro, challenger and Mustang. So far even with all the new teathing issues on the 2015 Mustang, it seems its still way ahead of the others as far as issues.
