I have no complaints with mine. I wouldn't call it a "pro" system buts its good for what it is.

I really like the premium system. Is it better than aftermaket? Is any stock system? That being said I'll never take the interior apart to replace any of the components, I think they'll do.

Sounds pretty good but dropping the windows on a nice day leaves you wishing you had more power.

I have the 200a package which has the amp (it says Shaker on it) but I do not have the subwoofer (comes with the 201a and 401a packages). I am wondering if the wiring is already there for the subwoofer in the trunk. Can I get the subwoofer and just plug it in basically.... Could be an interesting investigation when I get time...pull the panel off in the trunk and see if the connector is there but unconnected.

It's okay. Not very loud, like one of the other posters said with the windows down I'm finding myself at Maximum Volume a lot. And I found I had to crank the bass all the way to 10 and tweak the fader toward the rear to get it to my liking. It's got an odd default calibration, the Harman Kardon in my 3 series would have sounded awful if I had it set up the way it is in the Mustang.

Same here. I was pleasantly surprised that it was installed, when I was building the car on Ford's website it never said "Shaker Audio" just 9 speaker stereo with TFT screen. Shaker was only mentioned when you went with the upper tier option and the subwoofer.

It's a balanced, clean sound. It's what most people are looking for.

Not as powerful as I'd like at 70mph with the top down. I guess it's loud enough, but there's no feeling of "power" in the sound... if that makes any sense.

I gotta be honest. I am disappointed. It sounds like a radio, not a premium sound system. I have an Ecoboost with the premium 9 speaker system. Very little volume from the rear speakers and absolutely no bass.
My daily driver is a Mazda Cx5 touring, the mid level trim, and the stereo sounds great compared to my Ecoboost. Very disappointed.

And you adjusted the fader/balance/bass/treble...etc? I have the same system, it shakes/vibrates the side mirrors and rear view mirror. It's got a decent thump, with the windows down though it's a different story.

The Shaker Pro in my convertible works quite nicely. I was able to listen to a clear Frank Sinatra medley with the top down but with the windows up to block side turbulence. Voices are usually harder to hear than rock bass with a convertible top down. The subwoofer in the trunk puts out an adequate amount of bass. But it certainly won't bounce any goldfish in my neighbor's house.
