My Sunglass holder tray won't stay in. I hate taking my car to the dealer, so wanted to check here first. It seems like it just won't click and stay closed. Anyone having/had this issue? Any tips? TIA

Nope.

It is to the left of the steering wheel, below the light switch. Just above your left knee.

I don't drive during daylight very often, but I keep my sunglasses in there and use it whenever I need them. My only concern is that I"ll accidentally hit the trunk release button instead and my trunk will go flying open at speed.

As to the mechanism being broken, you'll have to go to your dealer for that, unfortunately.

I noticed mine broke when I drove it home. Another example of the quality of these cars.

I talked to dealership and they'll take care of it. But I won't be back until at least a month.

I don't think you can actually open it up while at speed but go ahead and give it a shot and report back.

Since that would mean either unloading 200 lbs worth of tools from my trunk or risk them flying out... I'll pass.

200 lbs! Holy crap!
I like to keep enough tools and spare fluids / parts in the trunk so that if I get stranded on the side of the road I don't have to worry about... being stranded on the side of the road. Few gallons of washer fluid, coolant, motor oil, plus a 50 pound floor jack, plus all different types of fasteners and wrenches and sealants and flares and triangles and whatnot... adds up.

I have someone in my neighborhood who has his pickup modded, ready for the apocalypse. Spare tired on the hood of the car, three large red containers of what I think is gas, a grill guard large enough to ram into Fort Knox, etc. I think you guys should hook up. :)
