Im sorry but aren't we about 1 year to late for all this 50th anniversary stuff? April 17 1964 is going to be 51, not 50 in 8 days...I hope and doubt this is the news...

The 50th anniversary of the GT350 was January 27, 2015 so yes we did miss it's anniversary. So April 17th has little to do with the GT350. And you are right the Mustang in general will be 51 April 17, 2015. What was Ford doing January 27th of this year? Obviously not thinking of the GT350's 50th anniversary.

If its a major story, I'm gonna guess magazines might publish late Thursday night just before any kind of Midnight information embargo.

However, if its just a brief announcement from an event, we likely wont find out until that person speaks.

That makes sense especially considering how late in the model year it will be built. 350 is probably all they can build for the '15 model year at this point in time.

I have been chanting for a limited 50th Anniversary GT350 since before the GT350 was confirmed. I feel this is a good idea, especially if markup is looming.

I say offer 1965 of the GT350s and a run of just 500 R's for homologation.

I think there is a loophole that requires manufacturers to only use the model year of the current season (example, NO 2016's in the 2015 season. All 2016's must be "in the publics hands NLT 30 days prior to Daytona in Janruary. If Ford wants Multimatic to run the rest of the season with a GT350, they need to squeeze out a limited run of 2015's.

If they don't, they need to develope the car during next season.

However, when Grand Am was Grand Am, they allowed Multimatic to run the Boss 302 in 2011. It was a developement season though and I think there are restrictions of some kind (no winning, no poles, no championship).

All subject to change of course.

Obviously they are making a 50th anniversary limited edition gt350. And much to Pill's chagrin, they are not making it because he asked for it. It's all about marketing.

Not to open a can of worms, but for the 50th anniversary limited edition GT, some (not on this site) were saying that the real 50th anniversary was 2014MY because the 45th anniversary edition 'Stang was in 09. And obviously 9+5=14.
