So I should drive my car in the rain or snow just because it's a performance car?

I love this argument, and how you're insulted at how someone else uses their stuff.
Most of the people that drive their mustang in the rain and snow I'm guessing are people with one vehicle. My wife and I saved all our life and have a 2013 Subaru and a pickup truck.

I hardly believe that when the weather is shitty outside these people will chose to drive their mustang in salty snow rather than pick the Subaru or truck.

RWD = easier snownuts. Which is one of the main reasons to get a Mustang.

I can understand snow and bullshit like that but rain? Whatever to each their own I suppose. I'll drive mine in rain, and it isn't my only vehicle...you make the payment do what you want with it. Personally I've let too many of my previous vehicle rot away in the garage/ not being driven much so the guy I sold it to could enjoy it. I realized that that's pretty will silly of me.

This. I saw many used cars that are in perfect shape and low miles where the owner obviously babied the car. Including my 07 Mustang. They take most of the depreciation hit, and use the car the least. I was able to get a like-new stang with 30k miles and not even one scratch for the same price of really bad condition mustangs.

I've driven my mustang this last week in some rain/snowy conditions but that's only because I just got it and was excited to drive it.

Going forwards I'll drive it in the spring/summer only which means it will see rain on occasion but it will be in storage in the winter. Once the initial excitement wears off it will live in the garage most of the spring summer as well because I'll commute in my Jetta.

When I was at your age, putting miles on my car was the last thing on my mind. I used to drive 30-40k miles a year on the cars I owned. Did not matter if it was a luxury sedan, sports car, or a truck. I went all over the country and most of it was for fun. Enjoy the ride! You bought a Mustang to do exactly that.

Ive had mine since Feb 9th and I have 1800 miles in 2 months and I thought that was bad. I'm about to put like 2k into her this week, going from Clearwater Beach, FL to Nashville, TN.

I use my mustang as my DD as well. I am only at 800 miles as of now, bought it about 3 weeks ago. I am very uneasy about driving more than needed haha. I just got out of a car that had over 240,000 miles on it. Although it still ran great, I dont wanna rack that many extra miles on it. Not to mention the added factor of wanting to avoid rock dings.... Thats my worst fear as of right now.

I wanna keep her nice and clean!

957 miles on my manual EcoBoost Premium PP, also my DD. I don't get to drive her much because I work so close to home. I finally get over 23 mpg! I was on a nice highway drive in Sport+ today and Monday. I'm noticing better mpg when using ACC, a gain of 2 mpg. Probably due to me not dropping into 5th and punching it to pass someone when that someone is an idiot riding in the passing lane on the highway too damn slow while talking on the damn phone. I'm taking a couple of road trips this summer. A nice long trip from Ft. Lauderdale to NY and back. I'm taking my Mom and my dogs to visit the family in July and it's cheaper to drive us all than fly us round trip and rent a car. Who am I kidding? I just wanted an excuse to spend 12 hrs a day for 4 days behind the wheel of my Mustang!

I drive NYC to Fort Lauderdale and back every summer! Normally do it in one straight shot; last time I dropped my sister off at Fort Lauderdale airport at 5:00 a.m. Saturday and pulled in to Brooklyn at 3:00 a.m. Sunday.

Its a good topic. I'm with you OP, I plan on driving the hell out of my mustang. As someone else posted, there is this instant happiness that I get even as I'm just walking to the car knowing I'm about to drive it.

I think of the rain as a free car wash; when I get home -- take out the drying towels
and wipe her down -- looks brand new.
