lol...this is a Mustang site, so I can handle the "looks like crap" comments. Its to be expected. (although it is quite funny that you comment on a camo'd car)....yet when the new Mustang was camo'd you really loved it. LOL. Give me a break.

So you can't get mad at me when I tell you that the Mustang looks like not much more to me than a Fusion coupe. Its a nice looking coupe though. A few mods (wheels, lowered, and such) it is a sweet looking ride. But in base GT or T4/V6 trim...its a bit bland if not awkward from a few angles. The GT350 gets it right.

What's really hilarious is when the pill says things like "cooling sucks" or talks about track when he has no clue. lol.

What we have here is another Camaro5 lover that has followed the ThePill over to M6G....

Cooling does suck, that is just plain aweful. They had issues with the 2014, I have no idea why this would be better. Maybe you can enlighten me on airflow and the lack of an upper grill.

50lbs? Your gonna need more than 50lbs and 30hp. If that is the extent of the Camaro then it won't be pretty. It can't step to the plate with ATS measurements. It would need some serious tire.

You desperately need this thing to weigh 200lbs less, I'm just not sure it will be that close to the ATS. If it's 50lbs then good, if the highest level ends up in 1LE territory then who cares. 50lbs more would make it 3755lbs or, only 150lbs. I thought it was 200lbs? Now we are eager to settle at 150lbs? Sure, I'll eat crow, and laugh my ass off when you can't get a Camaro worth a shit until you add in Performance Package weight. Like many others, I think they are giving you the best case scenario because that "200lbs" per model is hard to do.

This reminds me of the ZL1 when you fools said "3950lbs". Ummmm, no... It will not be as light as the Henny.

The Mustang is slightly lighter than the ATS Coupe V6, I doubt that will carry over. The Camaro needs to grow significantly to achieve a better foot print than the 5th Gen. This is weight gain very little people can predict however, getting larger is always a weight gain when working from a platform. If it was a different platform than the ATS then I would have no idea. This seems that it is not the case.

I'm a member of two or three Mustang sites, and I've been following this newest generation of Mustang since the rumors first started circulating of its existence and it was on my potential purchase list as well.

I have nothing against Mustangs personally...Its a great car and any real car guy can respect that.

thePill is the one that warned them of a 4152lbs ZL1, the 600+hp GT500, a 7:30-7:40 Nurburgring 500 run, the need for a refresh in '13/'14, my 2013 Z/28 concept. There was no misinformation, they just got pissed that all these "crazy" things I talked about came true. FENWICK is salty because the Chally just beat the 5th Gen in sales. He specifically said that would never happen.

They didn't want me around to hear them eat crow. If things were different, they would be hosting a member that brings the clicks.

umm...pretty sure the combination of 30HP, gobs more torque down low and mid range from the LT1, plus an 8 speed transmission are MORE than enough to overcome 50 lbs if the Camaro comes in that much heavier than the Mustang.

OK...so lets say ATS-V weighs 3700+ lbs. It has mag ride. Base Camaro SS will not. Cadillac will have more features, and likely more sound insulation that Camaro will not have. The LF4 in the ATS-V likely weighs the same or more than the LT1. That alone cuts 50 - 75lbs or more off the weight of the ATS-V. Camaro will grow in size, adding that weight back.

I'm not getting 3,800 - 3,900 lbs from that.

Not sure why you think Camaro will need Performance pack to keep up with Mustang. You do know the Mustang base doesn't include PP right? So the base Camaro will compete with that. The Camaro with PP (whatever its called...1LE again maybe?) will compete with Mustang GT.

Current 1LE already beats Mustang GT on the track. You know damn well the next Camaro 1LE will be even better....are the gears turning in your head yet??

Cadillac ATS gets rave reviews for its handling...even with its "crappy" wheelsbase/track ratio or whatever you've been saying. Right on par or better than BMW. Camaro will be on the same chassis, and will be wider. I'd say that's good news for Camaro.

Who said that? Certainly wasn't me. There are crazy people on C5 wanting/thinking the Camaro SS will be 3,600 pounds. Those guys are nuts. They don't understand how hard it is to pull that much weight out.

I don't know the figures for ATS Coupe V6 off the top of my head versus the Mustang...although I do know you misquoted the weight in a different thread, in which case CarFan called you out with the correct weight and you never replied.

I also agree that the platform should get heavier, but there are other ways to pull out some weight versus the Caddy.

The issue is the Camaro grew to accept the LT1, TR6070 and Convertible. It could grow even more to reach an optimal ratio. If the ATS Coupe Auto is already slightly heavier than the Mustang, it will be difficult to maintain that.

The Camaro needs to house an LT4, that with all the other upgrades could be over 100lbs for all we know. The 2007 GT gained 125lbs to support the GT500, it isn't insane to think.

I know Chevy and GM are cutting weight in these sedans. They are doing so by eliminating body styles. The Camaro's mission hasn't changed and the ATS doesn't fill that role properly.

It's questionable that he's stating facts. Half the stuff he says is made up BS. And don't act like the Mustang is the be all and end all. It's a good car but far from perfect. Do a search on the forum about issues that people are having. It's good to be passionate about something, but nobody likes over zealous fanbois.
