So I got a call from my dealer to say that my GT arrived yesterday after waiting for 5 months for it. I took a run up there this evening to find that Ford had fitted the rear spoiler despite me ordering spoiler delete and also there is something weird going on with the paint down one side. It almost looks like air bubbles or oil, underneath, or in the clear coat. It's on the rear quarter, bumper, door and side skirt. You can't feel it to the touch and apparently the detailer at the dealership said it's going to have to go to the paintshop.

Needless to say I'm far from happy about this. Has any one else has anything that looks similar and how did you fix it?

Thanks!

Shame, sorry you are having problems from day 1 after that kind of wait. Is the spoiler delete listed on the window sticker and they just misbuilt it?

Also if they do end up having to paint the car, at least you have black - likely the easiest paint color to match. You'd probably never know it was repainted after it was fixed.

Color matching isn't the issue. Good luck getting the signature Ford orange peel to match the rest of the car.

I'd be EXTREMELY critical of the fix...

In fact, are you able to back out of the deal?

How the hell did that pass quality control? That would be pretty damn easy to spot, especially on a black car

Who says that it looked like that in the factory? Looks like something was dripping on the car. Chemicals?

If it's under the clearcoat then yes, it could've came that way from the factory.

Do not write them a check! Pick out a new one. They must have plenty on the lot at this point or wait for a '16.

It's good that you looked it over well; most people would be so excited and lose perspective in the moment.

Ford doesn't have the greatest paint jobs; never did, never will probably.

Most dealers will try fixing it with their own paint dept. and they never get it right.

I would run away from this deal unless they can buff that out somehow; don't see how that is going to work well on new paint though.

Good luck and don't settle for a new car that needs any body work at all!

Just refuse delivery. They cannot make you take the car, they have no choice but to get you another one.
My car was ordered with spoiler delete and when the dealership ordered it they over looked it.
Solution, they had to buy a PP car from another dealer and swapped the trunk.
