I bought my GT about 200 miles from my house, and long story, but now I have my Pickup truck in atlanta and my mustang in Florida and I live in south carolina. So my best plan in terms of cost and time and schedule is to trailer the GT from Atlanta back to SC. It's going to cost $78 to rent a dual axel UHAUL car carrier, verses all the back and forth mileage and a day s worth -11 hours of driving I will do 3.5.

So the question is, has anyone loaded a GT onto a dual axel car carrier? And did it load without scraping parts??. I am concerned with scraping front end or underbody loading and unloading.

I did but used a low profile Featherlite with racing ramps. Ask Uhaul what they have for ramp extensions because something tells me their standard ramps will be too short.

I used a Uhaul dual axle trailer to pick up my GT PP. No scraping or rubbing. It barely fits over the front of the trailer but it does. I took some 2x4's with me just in case but didn't need them.

If your car isn't lowered you'll be fine. I've helped buddies with super low japanese cars onto the Uhaul trailer. If at all costs you are scraping then find a big speed bump or angled driveway to load and unload on to.

If possible have someone watch underneath as you go on or off. My car is on Steeda's and the biggest problem was the exhaust. Like Cooter said, find an incline and you should be fine.

Good idea to carry the stang on a trailer. You don't want to rack up miles too quickly!

Three vehicles helps make a lazy man keep the miles down... Will be a month tomorrow, just clicked 900 miles with perfect ca weather every day. Might break 1000 this weekend, hold on to your seats folks.

So I did the deed today. I trailered it 200 miles. I had no issues, it went on the trailer without scraping balanced well and unloaded fine too. My 2001 Chevy Silverado V8 handled the task like a champ!

Bringing back an old thread. How do you guys manage to get out of the car when it is the trailer? The door looks like it will barely open without hitting the wheel arch.
