I would like to mod my EcoBoost, but jeez, mod prices are so expensive! Cat back exhausts are over a grand!

That being said, do you all think the prices on mods will come down over time?

Id really love a cat back but $1k for one is just too much.

It's pricey &I assume after time the prices may go down but it being such a new car & with the supply & demand vendors can pretty much charge what they want...there are allot of people on here that did custom exhaust without breaking the wallet

Some of us have talked about it before, the exhaust prices being around $1-1.3k is pretty steep(I think $500-700 for catback 304 SS is where it should be considering other platforms exhaust pricing), have to wait for some more competition to come around, or go to a local muffler shop and have some custom work done which will be cheaper.

magnaflow has their catback for $835 shipped right now and it's the best out there for our cars, the street series at least.

I think stuff is ridiculously priced -- I paid $900 for a TBE on my GTI and that was a catted downpipe lol.

I am not touching the exhaust yet. I'll probably get a downpipe from WMS.

I got the FRPP sport catback for $1100 and I swear my MPG would be at least +2 if I wasn't always getting on it just to hear that roar

A lot of cars out there have single exits, or they just use a muffler to do the split. The Mustang is a little more expensive compared to say a GTI, EVO X, Subaru, or Honda. A lot of cat-backs out there are all Chinese made that is why they are so cheap for those vehicles. Most of the exhaust you see (like ours) is made in the USA, or made with higher quality materials.

On top of that, the Mustang is split in the mid-pipe so it requires a Y-merge, 2 different diameter piping (if you are building it correctly), and two mufflers. On top of this the exhaust is VERY long so it requires a decent amount of piping. We priced our exhaust below market, even though we have a ton more features than the competition but we didn't want to be the most expensive exhaust out there.

I saw Magnaflow mentioned, it is indeed a decent exhaust but you are getting what you are paying for. Their exhaust is priced according to the material and quality you are getting. I don't mean this in a negative way either.

Definitely man, I see you have the roush axlebacks I'm wondering how much of a difference it makes with or without the resonator. My Mishimoto CAI is on order now so let me get that on there :D. What part of Marlyand are you in?

Will the ecoboost exhaust always require the Y-merge? Or would it be possible to design an exhaust that ends up being a single exit? (I don't know much of anything about fluid/flow dynamics so I may be asking a simple question without realizing it). I can't tell if all of the aftermarket companies are doing the dual tip design because that's what the mustang has to begin with, or if there is some problem with doing a single tip design because of other parameters

Single tip is definitely do-able and we might look into providing one at a later date when we launch our turbo upgrade kit. I think everyone is avoiding the single exhaust because of the way it looks, having that big gap on one side is awkward. Just my opinion however!

I forget which company it is but someone is offering a single exit exhaust. It's cheaper and can sound good but then you either have to live with a gap on one side or mount just a tip on the other side and that just feels like lying haha.

Ultimate Racing is the one producing the single exit exhaust kit for the EBM. You can get a faux tip with that kit but it's something like $65 extra. I too am not a fan of the single exit exhaust on a factory duals car. It'd look really funny in the winter when one tip wasn't producing any exhaust smoke, lol.
