Wondering if the GT is under-rated? I remember the E92 M3 and the S197 Coyote - this feels quite a bit stronger, somewhere between the C6 with the LS3 (ok, so that was the strongest 435 HP given its wt) and the Camaro SS.

On my way to work I looked down at the speedo and was a bit shocked - someone on this forum who test drove a GT a few months back mentioned their 335 BMW felt faster, YMMV but I dont know WHAT GT they drove (prolly a Hyundai Tiburon GT), this car feels faster than my 500HP BMW M6 (prolly due to the lower torque of that car and 200-300 pounds additional wt) although that has a higher top end ~200mph . It's also getting louder (start up, in cabin - cant speak about exterior drive by as I'm the one driving) and more torquey as the break-in continues. Steering feel remains excellent and braking is ridiculously good. Fuel economy is....forget it, I didnt buy the car for that.

Random grainy cell phone snap of the car attached :-) Loving it so far. Mean (but refined) beast.

I can see why it felt fester then the e92. The m3 barely has 300 torque.

The trap speed (Vs quarter mile time and 0-60) is a good consistent indicator of acceleration and I think it hits 112-113 Vs the E92's 106-109 IIRC. But what I'm talking about as you said prolly has more of it has to do with the broad powerband and torque - holy s*^$T. I swear I could have gotten arrested for flexing my toe on the way to work.

For all the folks getting an S/C, more power to you (literally). Insane. I would worry that shifting in the seat might make you hit 130.

Calling out OKC #1 spot after axle back install.
"under rated" no, I doubt the pos can even put 400 to the wheels.
Race their BMW, it's the only way to find out.

Ahh, E92 M3s have recorded up to 114mph in the 1/4 mile. Here is the manual running a 114mph...btw, after the 1/4 mile the E92 M3 pulls the S550. The 0-150mph time is 23.9 while the S550 is over 25 seconds. Not to mention the 0-100 time is faster with the E92 M3.

Road and Track ran a 12.5 @114.8mph in their initial test with the E92 M3.

The DCT car running at 114mph and look at the 1/4 mile time of 12.4

Here is the DCT test.

Most of the times I see for the E92 M3is in the 112+mph has there been less? Yes there has. There is also slower tests of the S550 showing less than 113mph as well. To be frank I think the S197 was faster than the S550.

The M3 makes 295ft/lbs of torque but when you look at the torque being put down to the wheels because of the gearing the M3 is very similar to what is being put down on the road. There isn't a lazy gear in the M3.

Now if you want to talk about the new M3 game over, the Mustang has so much ground to make up. There have been people who have run 11.6 @121mph in bone stock F8X M3/4s.

Where are you finding 0-150 times for the E92 M3? The only ones I've seen have it over 26 seconds.

my car feels faster than advertised as well. I think it is the throttle sensitivity and torque in the GT. Have not driven my car in weeks now due to all the snow in Ohio :(
I'm gonna try to dig her out of the snow tomorrow. I can't take this shyt anymore.

As well as costing 30k more!

And not so much ground to cover. Mustang uses an NA motor to achieve 12.4-12.5 times in the 1/4 mile. While the m4 needs twins strapped to an inline six in order to achieve a couple tenths.

I agree the new M4 is faster than the GTPP. Not a fan of it though, I think its overstyled/busy with numb steering - I would pick the Mustang if they were the same price. I do like the E92 way more - although my fave M3 is the E46 Competition package/ZCP. Actually, if we go down that road my fave BMW is the 2002 M Coupe (S54) 'clown shoe'. *ducks*.

The S550 from the instrumented/magazine testing I've seen does trap faster than the S197. Thanks for sharing the data - having spent a decent amount of seat time in S197, E92 M3, S63 M6 I feel the S550 feels faster, esp compared to the E92 which feels peaky (the M6 is faster than the E92). I know the M6 will lead after 150 and the top end is close to 200. That said, I'll avoid the bench racing, all these cars are killer and any differences in speed is academic and prolly a drivers race (but significant when compared to the M4).

Thanks mate! I paid around 500 for the roof and side view wraps. The stripes are an accessory from Ford!
