What's awesome is that i'm getting a CAI but i saw someone on the forum tell Zack that you can get 17 WHP by adding the air filter you showed and cutting off some part of the original intake. I'm not sure if this is true or if it's what they told zack, but im sure if he did it, he would've made a thread about it. I'm expecting you to get around 1-3 mph more, gain 3 horsepower, and smoother responce from your engine.

Tom from Super Six Motorsports was the one that made the post. I was going to do this mod but I might be ambitious and make my own CAI with the airaid ubuild it kit. Waiting to hear back from Tom on the subject.

2010 Camaro V8 dynoed through stock, 3 K&N configs (inculding drop-in) and another aftermarket intake...Drop-in alone netted 8HP/8 ft-lbs for this car.

Drop-in Filter vs. Stock dyno (for others click on link above):

Question- so if I buy a K&N filter for my V6 mustang and drop it in, do I need to do anything else? I mean won't the computer be set up for a certain airflow or air/fuel mixture ?

No other changes necessary! It's just easier for the engine to pull in the air by a little bit.

As posted in the "what did you do to your Mustang today thread":

Installed K&N Drop-in filter and drove the snot out of the car through the back roads and canyons of Ventura County. It is as others said: a tad snappier throttle response and improved eagerness. Installation was about three minutes. And it really rocks on wide-open throttle!

Where did you pick it up from, online or from a brick and mortar store? I've checked a few places to no avail.

My local store had one surprisingly. Bought one about a week ago and was going to install it... I have decided to go another route though so I returned it. It is about $56 for our filter.

Interesting! At FRPP, for the 2014 S197 theres a power adder upgrade, it consists of 4 items. A ProCal tuner that is a very conserevitive tune to say the least. An axel back exhaust. A Ford Racing high flow oil filter. And last but not least, wait for it....A K&N Air Filter.

It of course talks about increased power do to less restriction.

Bought it directly from K&N for $55.99 plus tax (I live in California) with no shipping cost for UPS Ground and it showed up a few days after.

Thanks a lot! That's the filter I was waiting for. :D Also that our CAD is down to 78 US cent, I had to order it. 24.4% discount plus free shipping to Canada sweetened the buy much more. $61.99 at the K&N shop.

Thanks again!

So I went ahead and finally ordered one today - should be here and installed in about a week. Does anyone have actual dyno numbers or other input from using it?

Yes I would like to know someone's input about the k&n filter if they have one installed. I am probably going to order one myself since there is no Cai available for our cars yet.
