Have you noticed that there is huge price difference among European countries?

It is known that Auto transmission costs 2000 Eur (although costs $1500). Anyway...

France, Italy, Germany, UK, Greece, Sweden have the same price (2000 Eur).

BUT, some other countries have another price tags...:

Spain: 3000 Euro

Portugal: 9600 Euro

Norway: aprox. 11700 Euro (100,000 NOK)

and the winner is ........

Holland: 21800 Eur :eyebulge::eyebulge::eyebulge:

I understand the different price of the car between countries. But the transmission?

is that possible or is it mistake ?

Taxation or CO2 emissions policy?

In Holland and Norway it is because of Emission tax. The Manual's CO2 emission is already in a high tariff, but the automatic is even worse and goes into the ridiculous tax rates.

yup... Ford wants some money... and then the gov't takes the rest. I believe we pay more in taxes to the gov't than we do for the car to Ford. Now, is that right?! :'(

Hm, but the GT automatic has less CO2 emission than manual...

It is not just the transmission type, but also the actual gearing etc that makes a difference. Also there's a difference between how turbo and NA engines behave.

Swedes like their cars :D

Actually, yea - car taxes are an income post for the gov't. And at the same time they complain we drive old cars with high pollution... :D Sad fact though is that I can buy a Tesla P85D with 700hp and 0-60 in under 3.6s for LESS money than a Mustang Ecoboost :(

EVs are completely tax exempt, no VAT, no toll fares etc. etc.

On the other hand, Sweden is only 60 minutes away - wonder if I could live with that daily commute :D

Crikey! Just had a look at the Dutch Ford site.

The same car that I have ordered in the UK is €106,288 on the Dutch configurator whilst I'm only paying €45,391.

And how come the manual is €6,000 more than the auto in V8 form when the manual's CO2 output is higher?

The additional CO2 tax on the higher emission manual is 8000 more, so it surpasses the automatic with 6000 euro.
