Finally got her out on a proper high speed road course!
Unfortunately the weather was not on our side, but it did make for some puckering moments as you will see in one of the video clips - HEAVY rain. This was my first time out on a road course having only done autocross prior. This was a long time coming, and I finally made it happen.
I will say this, while the Toyo R888 are incredible in the dry, they were pretty scarey in the heavy puddling sections (which I knew), so I ended up ending the pouring rain session early. My wife would be proud.
BUT, if there isn't standing water and its just a normal light rain and wet road, they were surprisingly good. The first video clip illustrates that.
It was also great having almost 9lbs less rotational weight per corner with the FF15 wheels. This helped with the HEAVY high-speed braking coming off the big banked turn into turn 3.
I was VERY impressed with the car. it is basically dead even in all aspects with the F80 M3. The white one behind me is a friend from HG Motorsports that I went with.
The Gibson exhaust sounded incredible and drew some fans. I had a couple guys that came over saying how incredible it sounded coming down the front straight. My speeds on the straight could have been higher if I had the balls to stay pinned in the bumpy and wet big left sweeper leading you up and onto the banked straight, but I was ok with the roughly 135 mph peak before the big banked turn.
All and all for my first time out, it was incredible! I am planning on hitting either Buttonwillow or Willow Springs in April.
