I just purchased a new 2015 GT PP with premium package and Recaros. What a car! I love everything about it except for one thing......the dam pony light coming from the mirrors.

How can I remove the pony light on the side mirrors and insert a normal light?

I am currently covering the light with black electrical tape.....not very professional.

Seriously? I literally get more positive comments about the pony lights than about everything else on the car combined. I'd rather lose 200 hp than lose those pony lights; they're probably my favorite thing about the car.

But if you really insist on getting rid of them, you can pull out the mirror mechanism from the housing and remove the electrical leads to the light there.

I can understand it being annoying to you, but is it really worth the effort to turn it off? You really are only able to see it at night.
Perhaps you can remove the bulb out of there.

You are probably the only person in the world who hates the projector lights. Seriously.

Its worth it to me. I don't hate them...I simply don't prefer them. If I had my way...the whole car would be badge-less. Its my first American car and I do enjoy it. I simply don't like all the pony stuff. It seems tacky to me.

I didn't even know that any Mustang had that... I do agree it's tacky as hell.

Just put a piece of tape over them or paint the lens black.

I think puddle lights in the mirrors are a pretty useless item but the Pony lights at least make them a conversation piece.

Do you get normal puddle lights on the V6? I have them on my Fusion SE so I figured they would be on the base Mustang as well. If they do Id like to upgrade to the pony ones.. I think it's kinda cool

My BMW had them under the door handles, lights up the sides of the car. Really handy in a dark, narrow, cluttered garage like at my old rental house. The thing I missed the most when I got a new car.

I think the horse picture is a tacky gimmick.
