I just found and watched this step-by-step 2015 GT SC installation video! It is showing a Roush install:

[ame]

Would be nice if other SC manufacturers had a video instead of just a document.

Maybe someday that will be in our future. I personally am ALL FOR videos, however to do one correctly takes a good deal of time. And that takes time and resources away from creating/shipping/servicing our systems.

Our time is spent creating systems for lots of cars and trucks as fast as possible, so we can launch and ship kits as fast as these new platforms come out.

That way our customers can do the talking for us. :)
(Such as all those already enjoying the HO system, and making killer power)

Video would be great but I think most can understand what you are saying. Plus, from what I have seen, you have a nice instructional manual.

What are good (widest rear) Tires/wheels to go with a supercharger for best daily driver street performance that will last at least 15K to 30K miles?

If I keep the stock wheels/tires, I don't expect to get much grip, but that means less wear and tear on the drivetrain but also frequent replacement on the rear tires (around $320/each). If I upgrade to wider/stickier tires, I expect to not spin them as much, but I might also have to beef up a few components for the extra grip/power.

My stock tires/wheels from the performance pack are not cheap (dealer wants $1000 each for just the wheels). I found somebody selling theirs on ebay for $2900 + $220 shipping: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-2015-Mu...eels-Tires-19-Boss-Shelby-GT500-/221589922594

So throwing away $3000 wheels/tires for even wider and more expensive wheels/tires that might require a beefier drivetrain is a tough call. I found the new C7 vette that is supercharged with around 660 HP has these tire sizes:

P285/30ZR19 in the front ($439 - $498 each tire)
P335/25ZR20 in the rear ($532 - $602 each tire)

For the 2015 Mustang GT, the widest wheels I found were 20 x 9.5 in the front ($285/ea) and 20 x 11 in the rear ($300/ea):

http://www.steeda.com/steeda-black-spyder-wheel-20x11-013-0021-59B/

The tires for these 20" x 9.5" and 20" x 11" wheels are

275/35R20 for the front
315/35R20 for the rear

The tires I've seen sold with these wheels are Nitto INVO, but I would think there are other options. Note the combo wheel/tire price was around $2500. So if I could sell my old Performance Pack wheels/tires for $2000 and buy these for $2500, it's only a $500 cost adder for better traction.

Update: I found that for $490 each there are "Forgestars" wheels of 20 x 11 and another tire option for this wheel is the Michelin Pilot Super Sports 315/35R20. I guess I'm really looking for the widest tire/wheel that won't slip much for the best price.

Not bashing your post just giving you feedback on your plan. I just picked up a set of PP wheels with TPMS for $1300 that had 300 miles on them. Most have sold in that area (1300-1500) so your really looking at an extra $1000 to get a different setup.

As far as the installation video option, I think it gives the DIY guy a little more confidence the installation was done right and saves time as it's hard to mess up when you follow a video. Video is not required, but improves first-time installation complexity when available.

Thanks for the post. I was so excited to see that first listing of $3000 for the PP wheels/tires, I didn't really look for the 'average' sales price. Oh well, what's an extra $1000 when I have so much $$ in the car :)

There is another website doing a write up on how easy the install is, with lots of photos. But at the end of the day the hardest thing is taking off the bumper. And that is what I would describe as "simple" in the terms of working on a car.

I do agree with you, and would love more videos, just not needed at this time.
In the future we will be looking to do more of that.

Correct me if I am wrong, but it looks like this video was done by a retailer/dealer, not the manufacturer.

Yes of course CJP is a dealer. I'm sure he knows that and is just saying it would be nice if the manufacturers provided them.

Yes, you are correct, this was done by an installer and not the manufacturer. I was hoping that in addition to the manufacturer install manual, they would also release a video. I guess any installer can take a video of their install and kind of promote their shop and show how they properly install the part as well. Just seems like the manufacturer would want to do this themselves (if they had the time).

Just found a video of a Whipple SC pushing the GT to 195 MPH:

[ame]

Base Vehicle:
2015 Ford Mustang GT, 6-speed manual transmission with optional Track Pack

Power
• 717 bhp @ 7,000 rpm
• 632 lb-ft torque @ 4,400 rpm

Performance
• 0-60 mph: 3.6 sec.
• ¼ mile: 11.2 @ 131 mph
• Top Speed: 195.2 mph (with optional 3.15 rear axle ratio)

Installation:
• 2.9 Liter Whipple Supercharger
• Upgraded Fuel Injectors
• HPE Engine Management Calibration
• Dyno Tuning & Road Testing
• Lowed suspension
• 3.15 rear axle ratio

Looks like the 3.15 versus 3.73 rear axle might be the way to go for less spin and more usable top end 5th gear speed.

I also found this lower suspension kit: http://autoplicity.com/7575637-bilstein-46-228864-performance-suspension-kits-b12-system ($640)
The 3.15 gears were here: http://www.americanmuscle.com/frpp-315-gears-2015.html ($180).

He didn't change the wheels/tires to wider/larger ones and still got a 3.6 sec 0-60. I think the 0-60 & 1/4 mile would improve with the wider wheels/tires. Also, he didn't even try to shift into 6th, but just pushed the car to redline in 5th until the fuel cutoff at 195.2 MPH. I guess if he did shift into 6th, the RPM would be so low the speed would drop off. However, if he kept his 3.73 gears and stayed in 6th, he could have possibly gone over 200 based on the way the speedometer was climbing so quickly up to 195 then it just stopped. His stock GT PP tires are Pirelli P Zero 275/40ZR19 101Y and are rated at speeds up to 186 MPH (so 195 is kind of pushing the tires over their rated speed). I think I'll try my 3.73 in 6th and see what it can do before moving to 3.31 or 3.15 gears. Also, the lower suspension is a good idea to keep air from going under the car as much or if you are on a track and want more firmness.

At 195MPH, you are doing 3.25 miles per minute or traveling a distance of 1 mile every 18.5 seconds! This is why we need super-speed highways across the country like they have in Germany. Put a minimum speed limit of 120 MPH and require drivers/cars to pass a yearly inspection of their tires/wheels and high-speed driving skills before allowing them to get a permit to use the highway. At 195MPH, you can drive from Miami to New York City in 6.55 hours (+ time for fuel refills + $385 in 93 octane gas at 10MPG) or Miami to Los Angeles in 14 hours or New York to LA in 14.2 hours. Airplanes are overrated! :usa: Just a thought...

I'm sure evo8904 is going to be happy with this video as he has the same Whipple.

Yep, I was happy when I saw this video. It made me miss living in Germany:)
