Does the PP wheels/tires not weigh 63lbs? and the stock ones? 50? I was being nice and said the front wheel/tires were only 8lbs heavier. I don't actually think that is the case.I think you need to read what they weigh thread. The total weight difference between pp tires and wheels and front brake upgrade is only 39llbs so where are you getting the other 60lbs. The tires and brakes are the biggest weight gain, all the other stuff is minimal.
The 15" rotors weigh what? 34lbs? and last years 14's were? 22lbs?
I am up for conversation but... that is more than 39lbs...
From base 18"s to the 19's is roughly 13lbs. The rear tires are heavier I think.
With just the wheels, tires and front rotors... It is pretty heavy...
I didn't add in the sways, springs, shocks (if different), bracing or any of the support equipment. Just the heavy stuff first. The Z51 Package is very similar to the GTPP's. It adds in a Dry Sump (that would be nice) and a few other things. that package weighs 150lbs.
Doesn't the GTPP have a cooler or two? That was 13,16,19lbs (can't remember). The rear rotors and actual calipers? Hello???
So, tell me again how a Base GT and a GTPP weighs 3705lbs and 3718lbs. I want to hear this... Nobody here is going to convince me a Performance Package only weighs 12lbs... It doesn't...
Yep, nothing on paper from Ford is correct... Nothing, not the numbers, lap times, ratings, weighs, measurements...Have you every considered the eu numbers are not correct? There are no official specs on eu fords website, just that spec sheet from Oct of last year. Do you really think the eu EB car gains 30lbs over the U.S. car, yet the GT some how looses nearly 70lbs.
It's all got to be wrong...
The thing with US Curb Weights is, you have NO IDEA what the manufacture expects to sell OR, how much those options weigh. The only thing we can do is weigh the car. I know a Performance Pack GT is heavier than a Base. The reason the EU Mustang is so heavy is because it is a Performance Pack EB Mustang. Performance Pack and some Premium options are forced onto the Mustang as standard. Our base has a 6 speaker system, theirs has a 9 speaker. We have cloth manual seats, they have leather, they have 15" rotors, our base has 14" rotors... They have the PP sways and braces, we don't...
If you have seen a GTPP w/ Recaro's weigh 3718lbs, then a Base GT can only weigh less... PERIOD.... and it's not going to weigh 3705lbs. Use your head... The 2011-'12 Performance Package was 60-70lbs, this years has far more equipment added and all of it is larger. I have no idea what some of you are thinking...
