Taking my GT w/ PP in to my dealers collision center Monday.

1) Hood has wide gap on passenger side

2) Trunk does not shut right and is sagging on the drivers side scratching the bumper and edge of the fender back by the glass.

3) The wonderful Glass misalignment.

4) Debris in the paint/clear coat on the drivers side rear fender close to the door.

I will take pictures later of the before/after and keep a log of the process. The dealer is nice enough to give me a rental because i have purchase 4 cars from them.

Im very picky and i want every thing perfect.

The debris in the paint is my only concern. My wife's 2014 explorer debris was so deep that they had to repaint her door and front fender. You can tell it was repainted after a wax and in certain lights. This one looks to be just as bad.

Update: All alignment issues are fixed just waiting for the paint to be repaired. As for the rear glass Ford will not let a collision center reset and seal the glass. They are only issuing new rear glass be sent out to fix the misalignment problems. I have a new glass coming in a week or so. I will have to take my car back when it comes in. Unfortunately I will have to pay for the rear glass to be retinted as my dealership didn't do the tint job.

Just for curiosity sake, when was the build date of your Mustang?

Wow! I knew that some of the earlier builds (Oct-Nov) were having alignment issues, but it looks like production and QA are still experiencing process issues if the December builds are finding alignment problems. I haven't paid close enough attention, but I wonder if the January builds are still reporting misaligned panels?

My 1/9/15 built ecoboost has the glass issue, not quite as bad as this one, but not much better. Passenger side hood gap is wider than driver but not as bad as above. And the driver tail light needs to be adjusted, the plastic trunk panel sticks out a little on that side. And my radiator hose wasn't pushed all the way up on the engine mounting, Friday car.

My 1/9/15 build is a total disaster! No fixing it either, there are creases in several panels, every panel is crooked and the passenger door rubs the front fender when opening the door, the gap between the passenger rear fender and bumper is so big you can see the bracket the two panels attach to. Two Ford Collision Centers won't touch it, one said it cannot be fixed and it's the worst he's ever seen. The only fix is a newly built one, so broken-hearted that I waited 10 weeks for a damaged car. It looks like it was in a wreck and kids did the body work.

I am floored that Ford is letting these defective cars leave the plant. I consult for many manufacturers in the state of PA and I promote in-line quality inspection throughout the manufacturing process. Much better to deal with the problems in the production process compared to waiting until the end, rejecting it, and putting it on quality hold for repairs.

I only have to assume that the QA department is dropping the ball and not writing up root causes for these issues so the production process can be fixed. Shame on Ford! They may have demand now for the Mustang, but this can turn around in the other direction if they don't address these production issues soon.

PonyGrrrl, I would get the contact information for the Ford regional rep in your area and let that person know how dissatisfied you are with the quality of your Mustang and see if they can find another one in dealer stock somewhere that matches your current car. If they can't find one, the rep can at least put a Priority 1 on a rebuild. Either way, you deserve to have your current Mustang replaced!

Thanks. I have been in contact with Ford since taking delivery. The regional CSR that's assigned to my case is getting the pictures of my car e mailed from the collision center manager so he can show them to his team and determine how to proceed. He scheduled me for a follow-up call on Monday.

It would have to be a Priority 1 order because of how I optioned mine. Fingers crossed I can drive this one while waiting for a new one. I already traded my 06 Stang for this one and I don't want some shitty rental.

I'm glad to hear Ford is working with you on this.

I don't blame you about the rental car.

Just dropped my car off at the dealerships collision center. Panels will be realigned and scratched edges touched up. Glass will be pulled and new seals put in. If it is still off they will order a new glass and see if that will fix it. Debris in paint is said to come out with some buffing (we will see).

All alignment issues are fixed just waiting for the paint to be repaired. As for the rear glass. Ford will not let a collision center reset and seal the glass. They are only issuing new rear glass be sent out to fix the misalignment problems. I have a new glass coming in a week or so. I will have to take my car back when it comes in. Unfortunately I will have to pay for the rear glass to be retinted as my dealership didn't do the tint job.

Wanted to jump in and update -
I have a horribly off passenger side fender, a hood that is uneven (where it meets the nose), potruding gas cap cover (minor) and pinched rear bumper (minor) where it meets the body.

Paint is first class.
I adjusted the hood and its fine now. The dealer is having a body shop look at the fender/gas cap/bumper regarding alignment next week and will provide a loaner. I will update as it makes progress. Chances are the fender might need a completely new replacement.

May I know which dealership you took it in? I have those issues on my car too.

Does everyone's trunk lid come in contact with their bumper? Mine touches the bumper and has rubbed off the paint. The dealership is taking care of it by doing a trunk realignment and re painting the bumper, but after looking at all the other s550s it looks like it's just a design flaw and the trunk lid was designed to be flush with the bumper...

I had a Blue 2015 Mustang that had dirt trapped in the clear, got a 2016 Blue Mustang and the same problem! There is an issue with quality control at the Ford Factory!!!! lI see you have the same issue.
