Heh you've got no choice dude. The EPA extended CA emissions nationwide starting model year 2016. So your decidedly late to the game. Why I will never live CA or a state with those emission laws

That's not true. Federal emission standards are not changing and don't even cover CO2. What changed was fleet mileage requirements between 2011-2016. That's how the fed deals with overall vehicle emissions. Better gas mileage = less greenhouse gasses. In fact, the EPA is being sued to try to force it into regulating greenhouse gasses since it doesn't currently....Heh you've got no choice dude. I asked few guys on this.... There is something called California pack something its even in my etis it says California emission system... YES YES... it was on my window sticker... Too and it was put in for no charge and it was put by default i guess it is state dependent or somethingpretty sure the car isn't ILLEGAL in california. something seems off. also california != washington. Why would it matter if the car was illegal in CA if you're registering in washington?

What is the Clean Car Law?
The Clean Car Law (RCW 46.16A.060) requires vehicles across Washington State to be certified to California emission standards. Starting with 2009 models, vehicles must meet these strict clean air standards to be registered, leased, rented, licensed, or sold for use anywhere in Washington.
Types of vehicles that must meet Clean Car standards
All new passenger cars, SUVs, vans, and pickup trucks with a model year of 2009 or newer must be certified to California emission standards. New vehicles that don’t meet California emission standards cannot be registered, leased, rented, licensed, or sold for use in Washington.

Yeaaa....so its clear depending upon states that California emission package is installed.California is full of crazy rules and insane taxes. The good side is we don't need to garage car half of the year, or buy different wheels and tires and have salt all over the car.
10 day forecast February .....72, 74, 78, 75, 73, etc etc etc
so there is a trade off.
You are wrong. First of all, carbon dioxide emissions has nothing to do with the more stringent emissions requirements being rolled out to match CA emissions states currently. And I was slightly incorrect, it is model year 2017 not 2016 that they are rolled out nationwide. Its called Tier 3 emiissions:That's not true. Why are you surprised? Rhode Island is a California emissions state. Just like Washington Oregon and a handful of others. Your car has to have that by law.check it out
In my window sticker .. check out optional equipment:
U will find California Emission System

Fair enough, I stand corrected. I knew there hads been pushes to get CARB standards adopted nationwide for years and they kept getting turned down and I was looking for 2016 regs. You are wrong.
