Hello, a little background about myself, this is my third mustang but before this car I got a 2014 Lexus F-sport BUT before that I had a '13 5.0 premium 6mt

but now I have a 2015 Mustang Ecoboost premium 6mt w/ the back up sensors and the voice activated nav. Guard metallic with dark saddle interior, oh yeah!

So I have some questions, simple sweet and easy! I've never had a turbo car, it has always been displacement over replacement but times change and I love this car so my questions are as follow:

1) Who is the best tuner from experience? Don't suggest bama please, their tunes are so tame and hated them on my 5.0. I loved MPT, and lund for my 5.0 so if anyone knows an equivalent it will be great

2) Suspension parts! I used to have steeda, UPR, and BMR suspension on my 5.0. I do want a 1.5 inch drop so if you guys can suggest me some great lowering springs that would be awesome! Plus supporting mods of course :)

3) BOV updgrade! I've seen one page on youtube that has the louder bov, any nice recommendations or is there nothing available yet?

4) Downpipe, cai, intercooler suggestions, or anything else that's a must on this vehicle? Please help!

5) This is an important one, exhaust! I had a Borla S-type "stinger" on my 5.0. To me, a proper exhaust is a must with zero drone and definately zero "ricer" noise, so if you guys have a suggestion on an axleback or turbo back im all ears!

Thanks so much

Welcome.

1.) This has a lot of controversy. The gist is this. COBB has a great background in turbo applications, with a great device. Many suppliers use the COBB tuner (AccessPro) and either use the OTS maps or their custom ones. Unleashed Tuning uses an SCT X4 tuning device, another great tuning device. The owner, Torrie, personally communicates and tunes for you to your liking. Fantastic tuner, with a lot of support from people on the boards. Livernois has a tuning device built solely for uploading a tune, but has very good results (possibly the best). They have some controversy as the performance map still hasn't been made available to the public due to upgrades Ford did to the software as newer models rolled out. They have a stage 1 tune available at the moment.

2.) Not much in terms of suspension at the moment, but the majority of suspension mods (steeda) will be available across all the models. I believe a lowering kit is available from steeda at the moment, but that's pretty much it right now. Ford racing will have some upgraded components in the future. There are a plethora of CAI, downpipes, exhaust systems, and intercoolers coming out, so your best bet would be to check out the stickies at the top of the boards.

3.) The boomba conversion bov is available and cheap, check out the videos.

4.) If you want more power, an intercooler is looking like a must for safety. A larger downpipe will always help, as will the CAI. The main power adder will just be unlocking the car via a tune, these will just push you up just a tad. For most, an exhaust system (including downpipe), intercooler, and tune will be enough.

5.) The "headifold" on the 2.3L makes this car generally sound like ass. Check the exhaust thread. The biggest hit so far has been stainless works I've seen. No reviews I've seen on that one yet though. A few systems have been purchased, namely the MRT, ford racing sport axleback, and the ultimate racing (I believe) and have gotten pretty good feedback from the owners.

Thanks for the extremely quick reply!

It seems to me that I will go the Cobb route, but I want to research livernois as well. I do want the AccessPro though. I had an x4 so if you can guide me on how to find Torrie that would be great, a custom tune does sound nice and not just a canned one.

Regarding the exhaust, I feared that this car won't sound all that great but I may save and wait for the ford racing model to go down, I did hear MAPerformance's exhaust and it was amazing!

Torrie's tune http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14394
The ma performance exhaust is on my list due to the lack of fart can noise:thumbsup:
There are a few lowering springs out. Steeds, eibach,h&r is coming I believe.
I think with just an intake you get some pretty good sounds from the factory valve. There's also the turbo smart bov. Or the boomba plate.
Great looking car, love the saddle int. btw

Just ordered the boomba bov adapter, my inner ricer told me to do so:cheers:

Yeah but the MAPerformance stuff is too much money :(

I'm going to go with the cobb tuner due to the 5 way map switching then choose a tuner from there

Any info or experience with this?

I have MMR CAI and fftec is near identical to the setup and location so its great MMR is little annoying to install but looks great under the hood and I like it a little better than fftec just for the fact the its a nice smooth 1 piece pipe and you have various colors to choose from. Also with both setups you get an amazing BOV similar sound when you hit the throttle

Hey NewSVO,

First and foremost I'm sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your previous Bama Tune and I thunk you would be really surprised with what they can do for your EB. If you'd like to be re-enrolled for your EB I'm happy to have the fee waved to get you set up.

I've said it in another thread but Bama's EcoBoost is up there running with some of the fastest EB's out there. Considering ours wasn't put on a diet and was running 19's it did well. We were just down with Bama doing some R&D @ Kooks in North Carolina a couple weeks back and ran the car down an 1/8 Mile Track and made the following passes;

7.71 @ 89
1.59 60 ft.
This equates to a 12.0-12.1 @ 105 with the following mods

- Airaid CAI
- Bama V2 Race Tune (same boost level as the tune their customers receive)
- 3" Kooks Catless Downpipe and Exhaust
- Prototype Intercooler and Up-Pipe Kit w/External Blow-Off Valve
- Full weight (no seats removed)
- 19" Drag Radials (not slicks on smaller drag wheels)

This was on race gas as well but what I want people to understand is that it's the same boost level as the Race tube Bama sends to their customers on 93 octane. They were using Race Gas here as well as we're seeing that many EB owners as well as Bama's customers are experimenting with different fuels.

The Bama team has members who have tuned plenty of factory turbo cars for years, including Ford and the EcoBoost platform. This definitely isn't their first run-in with this type of tuning.

If you have any questions feel free to let me know, I'm always around to help.

I have their full stage 4 kit. The quality of all the parts is really good. Everything fits great. I still need to install the intercooler, hopefully this weekend. FFTEC should be releasing their own maps real soon. I'm sure they'll chime in once those are ready to go. I will be doing a more in depth write up once I actually get the IC installed.

They also have their upgraded turbo kit already in testing, you can see pictures and a little teaser video on their Facebook page.

I think they'll do it. Too close not to make some tweaks and get the 11.xx timeslip.

For the intake and exhaust, I'd recommend MAP. They're attention to detail and quality is second to none. Plus, hit them up and you can get those parts a bit cheaper. Speak with Adam.

As for the intake, the reason I choose MAP is because it's the perfect blend between the FFTec and MMR. It's a single piece intake, mounts to the body instead of engine, can be installed from the top, places the filter in the inner fender, and has metal fittings/connection ports for the factory hoses, sensors, etc.

As far as the exhaust goes, theirs utilizes v-bands, high-grade stainless piping, 2 resonators, and two mufflers. There's no drone with their kit and it sounds amazing.

As far as tuners go, I'd recommend the Cobb AP. They have OTS maps, but you can also get custom e-tunes tailored to your car from their ProTuners. IMO, none of the tuning hardware out on the market can beat Cobb's AP. I've used many different brands, and the AP blows them all out of the water.

That's at full weight w/ large diameter heavy front wheels.

That's on par w/ the best pass so far for the EB. That's moving pretty well.

It's when and how much it costs to break this barrier that should be of concern...

Ehh estimating quarter mile times can be iffy, especially because the ecoboost has such a hard fall off on the top end. I'll believe that low 12s number when I see it, not when it's estimated.
