I have LOTSOLUTIONS, INC. on my 2018 R, 2100 miles. Haven't had to use them. I've always been uncomfortable with aftermarket warranties, but I did it anyway.
Hope they honor it if anything happens. I’ve been considering going the Carmax route and getting MaxCare. Heard good things about it and I’ve read on some forums that they actually do cover the engine repairs. It’s still third party tho so I think if I‘ll still prioritize the Ford ESPs if I can

I was at my dealer for an oil change & inspection. While waiting I spoke with the manager handling warranties. Ford Protect plans were available to me and I narrowed it down to the Premium Care ($100 deductible) which is basically is a bumper to bumper plan or a Basic Care ($100 deductible) which is drivetrain and major components (AC). I am looking at a 5 - 7 years of these plans which will run $5400 (Base) to $7400 (Premium). Since my current ESP runs through March 2027 he suggested I wait till October or November to minimize overlap but avoid increases. Also my annual mileage is <1500 with currently 8300 miles on the car - so that affected the rates and policy length is my priority over mileage. I've got some detailed coverage documentation to look over and decide. Pricey, but peace of mind can cost!

I would shop that cost with different Ford dealers, as some dealers will work at cost plus $100 up to cost plus Infiniti. I had been quoted as much as $3200 for a 4yr/24K policy that I ended up getting for approximately $2200. Can’t remember the exact number off the top of my head.

Unfortunately I am in Florida which heavily regulates warranty products. I can only purchase from an in state vendor. Further pricing is fixed so there is no benefit in shopping better rates. Best I can do is some dealer perks. A few oil changes will be appreciated.

I just went through a similar process. I went Premium 6yrs/40k. I didn’t think they went beyond 6yrs (which is 72 months). Mine didn’t offer that, nor was there such an option on https://www.zeiglerfordesp.com/process/?type=primary. I also don’t think the Base covers all AC items, but a majority of it. If you want any electronics coverage, you need Premium. I didn’t want to think when I went in if something was covered or not, so just went Premium. I was down to Powertrain or Premium. If they didn’t mention it, there is a $50 deductible and Disappearing deductible (means $0 if serviced at dealer you bought ESP from, $100 at any other dealer). For what they wanted, the cost for both is recouped after 3 visits. I went Disappearing, so I pay nothing; like having a new car warranty for the next 6 years.

Good points and thanks. I am still reviewing the coverage details, but I tend to lean for Premium, like you there is less need to discern if a repair is covered or not. I also think there may be some coverage & plan details regulated by my state that make the offerings different. I am likely to jump off the cliff and go with the 7 year Premium as I have no mileage concerns. Worse case if eventually sell it the plan is refundable (pro rated) or can be transferred to the new owner. Thanks gain for the input.

Was debating 5 or 6 years, but the prorated tipped it for me. Who knows what prices will be in 5 years. Plus I’d have to buy down the deductible again.
