Do you already have 6-piston front calipers, or are you planning to upgrade to them?

I don't have them yet but do plan on upgrading to them soon, I'm gonna do the rear first to get my EPB working and I know the brake bias is gonna be off with the stock 4 pistons in front, but only for temporary

I got good news, my 275/40r19's came in for the front so gonna ditch the stretch 245/45r19's today and will finally have a square setup, my steeda strut tower tool comes on monday so I can fix the camber, and rotors got delivered today and I painted the calipers so hopefully tomorrow, they will be installed  also rotors I got from rockauto, I bought the dynamic friction rotors for $47 a piece I believe, was gonna go with slotted but only set i found was eradispeed and there $900 cause there 2 piece... I don't think i need that for an ecoboost lol and this is a budget Big Brake Kit haha, so far I'm in $950 minus the electronic parking calipers

yep, on the s650 gt pp, the rear setup uses separate electric parking-brake calipers along with 4-piston main rear calipers.
Awesome! I willl definitely be following this!

The update you all have been waiting for! Everything fits!! So ALL I bought was the rotors, calipers that came with the bolts and brake lines, spindles with dust shields and wheel speed sensors (reused my sensor, same but dont want problems), all the brackets from s650 line up on s550 only difference is the vertical link, and the brake caliper banjo bolts are different so use the s650 lines and s650 bolt, I used the whole brake line to where it connects to the inner frame on the hard mount line, heres the pics, also did it in duplicolor metalcast silver base, and then the metalcast red and duplicolor engine enamel clear, will be doing the brembo stickers but wanna wait a week so it fully cures cause I already chipped the paint :explode:

Also got the S650 back up camera installed with the brown fakra wiring from radio to camera, I'm not gonna lie, i the s550 bracket even modified was a pain and I'm like im not removing this if its a pain to even screw on, so i used silicone and it created a tight seal and doesnt move at all, very firm but I need to adjust

Heres the brakes

Brake pedal was super stiff after I bleed my brakes but ones I pumped the clutch a few times and started rolling, it felt normal, driving home, HUGE DIFFERENCE, AGAIN reminder I will be upgrading the the Performance Pack Master Cylinder or Brake Booster, I forgot which one I need to replace to prevent I assume long term damage of brake bias because It is a ecoboost base model that came with 2 pistons in the front, I then swapped to the GT base 4 piston caliper and the performance pack vented rear rotors with the pp2 rear 1 piston caliper, I will be swapping to the S650 front 6 piston calipers too

Damn you move fast! LOL! Did you paint those calipers or did you have someone (shop) paint them, I mean that was QUICK color change! LOLOL!

But excellent updates, you have a very interesting thread with the S650 mash up and all of the parts your swapping. Have you been buying your S650 parts from a single parts dismantler or just as you see them pop up on eBay?

Haha I painted them myself, As soon as the calipers showed up I got them prepped and been curing up until today, And as for the parts, I been searching for any that pop up on ebay and been checking based on the cheapest or sometimes if like the knuckles for example since it came with the vertical links, dust shields and all the little bolts and sensors, it was $190 per knuckle while others were selling the knuckle by itself for $400 each, so I price out what each part includes vs how much I'll save if i buy individually used, but I been mostly buying from midwaymustang.com because they offer free shipping and charge no taxes, so they been fast with delivery across the us to cali in like 3 days for almost every item i purchased, they also been the cheapest and best condition parts that includes a lot of pieces attached to the main piece

Also quick tip, those who have S550 brembos in the front, You really won't see much of a benefit to upgrade to the S650 calipers, the rotors I believe are only 1/2 to an inch bigger in diameter I believe, but the rear brake conversion will be a nice addition to the S550 front brembos, Now that I got everything and confirmed the swap, Let the S650 Rear Brembo Conversion Bidding War BEGIN lol wish everyone luck for who does this because I am anticipating the parts to sell out quick now that we have this figured out

This might be the best thread I’ve ever seen, you mad bastard! 😂

So I know you didn’t want to, but could you have used the e-brake switch instead of the handle? I’m in the UK so RHD and I’d like to do away with the lever on the wrong side of the car. Sorry if this is a stupid question but I’m not mechanically minded!

really impressive work you’ve done 👍

Yes I could use the switch vs the electric handle, and hahaha thank you lol you'd probably just have to find a spot to mount the switch, and a switch that'll handle to amperage

From what I remember, S550 base 2-pots and GT 4-pots use the normal master cylinder, but the GT PP 6-pots got a different one. Booster might be the same, but don’t quote me on that))

S650 is another story, no vacuum booster on those at all)

Also got the new arms installed for the rear
2459.webp

I had to cut the ebrake line just for ease of removal, I'll finish removing the rest when i wire the Electronic parking module
2455.webp

I put the bolt back in fron the parking bracket so water wouldnt wont go inside (was always taught when removing anything with a bolt, put a bolt back lol)
2456.webp

Make sure to remove the abs sensor, ebrake bracket and brake line brackets to allow the spindle to come off without putting resistance or tension on major components
