New battery now have odd smell?

Hydrogen is orderless.
Hydrogen sulfate smells like rotten eggs and is created when a battery is overcharged.
What readings are you getting on your voltmeter?

Smells like maybe oil or vapors. Just found this on my catch can. Getting that replaced to.

Found the culprit. Do not remember at all running over a plastic bag but got it cleaned up and the smell is gone. Thanks to all that posted and chimmed in!
