So with the latest revision, I’m still getting break-up under any kind of boost. Then the check engine light came on, and I got an O2 sensor code. I datalogged it and sent it to Wengerd. He’s saying that everything seems fine with the O2 sensor, but the MAF for some reason is showing an unsteady signal.

So he sent me a new revision that I’ll load tonight. Datalog the start up, unplug the MAF, and let it idle for 3min. I went ahead and bought a new MAF and O2 just in case, but let’s see what happens.

I will get some. I ran into two issues so far.

I bought the Cervini’s side exhaust because I never see anyone with it (probably due to price) and I think hearing the turbo’s by the door will sound pretty damn good. However I couldn’t install them due to the size of the down pipes being much larger than the factory piece it should have bolted up too. I can still drive it, but I feel like I’m getting too much exhaust creeping up into the cabin.

Also relocated the battery to the truck and was going to use the factory battery location for my catch cans. Oh what a rookie mistake……. I have -12 an fittings coming off of both Motion Raceworks valve covers and going to the catch cans that exhaust to the atmosphere. Right in front of the A/C box…. And they smoke like a chimney…. It royally sucks right now to ride in it. I knew they might smoke a tad, but with the motor built for boost they smoke a lot.

So right now I’m looking at the Fathouse Performance catch tank that sits in that same location and has a -12 on top for venting. I think I’m going to route that line clear to the back bumper to vent.

How much was it to get the vband clamps on the exhaust?

Surprisingly enough, that’s the way it came from On3. I would really like to V-band every thing at some point. But one step at a time is what my bank account is telling me. 😅

Dang I looked online and I saw they have downpipes! I wonder if they’ll let me buy some

Pulled the plugs to verify they were all gapped at .019 and to check the condition trying to see why I am getting some break up under boost. Cyl 4 is getting some oil in it from the gasket and seems to be causing a misfire. Going to see if I can seat the gasket down and little more to stop the leak. If that doesn’t work I’ll just get another set of gaskets and redo it again. Have 100 miles left on the break-in oil before I switch over to the conventional oil for another 1,500 miles.

I got new rear wheel bearings with ARP 3” wheel studs when I was redoing the rear of the car. When we mounted the Welds we noticed the front lug nuts really didn’t have a ton of realestate on the wheel stud so I went ahead and got the ARP 3” wheel studs for the front. I feel a lot better about these.

The Motion Raceworks catch cans were just smoking like a chimney right into the cabin and around through the window when at a stop light. It was absolutely miserable….. Called Fathouse Performance and Trevor got me hooked up with their Anti-gravity catch can setup minus the battery since mine is in the trunk now and 2-day’ed to my house this past weekend so I could get it all finished Sat. It made a world of a difference and definitely the way to go.

Well……. Had to scrap the idea of the Cervini’s side exhaust. Took it to the muffler shop once mocked up under the car the welder and I both agreed both the pipes and the side tips probably wouldn’t last a week. Very very pissed due to the cost of that system but in my normal fashion “F**k it and move on” took over. Told him use the mufflers and route it back and dump it. Quick, easy, and cheap.

But it wasn’t 5min down the road when I couldn’t hear my turbo’s whistling in my ear through the exhaust that I’ve already made my mind up that I’m heading right back to the muffler shop to remove the mufflers and straight pipe it to the dumps. So that is on schedule for today. Hell even my wife agreed surprisingly that it’s just not rowdy enough with the mufflers. 😂

Really the motion can fumes are that bad? Where was it mounted? I’ll have to check your photos and see if I can spot it.

Yes they were horrible. They were mounted where the factory battery box would go. Since I moved my battery to the trunk it was the only space big enough to place them. If you look at the previous pics you can see we just mocked it up and had one tilted while we were testing everything out.

I know I have a motor built for boost so it probably breathes heavier than a stock motor but you could literally see the fumes coming through the dash and at a stop light coming out of the hood and with the windows open it would whip right in. It was absolutely miserable.

I was thinking 8’s in the 1/4 once dialed in. But for now just car shows and fun runs on the road. The safety requirements to run 8’s isn’t cheap at all. While I realize it’s for my benefit a local shop quoted $13k for just the 8.50 certified cage. That’s not the seat, chute, engine diaper etc….

So I think I’ll take it to the local 8th and work on dialing in the 60’ times. Then let one rip and get kicked off. 🤣

@16RPG_Turbo what’re your goals? Low 4s 60-130 8s in the 1/4?
