Making some really good progress - and doing it with a daily driver is definitely a real challenge! It’s very interior to see what is working with the swap that doesn’t require mods and where you have to make updates/changes.

Just a word of recommendation -
Since you have a lot invested so far (time, money, parts etc - plus the car itself), do yourself a favor and get your car insured under an Agreed Value policy. The Agreed value will be in black and white within the policy docs and provisions stating the car is insured for $X value. In the event of a loss, you will be paid that Agreed Value, nothing more and nothing less. Right know, if something were to happen, your Ins. Co. will only pay what the VIN is worth (ACV), it won’t pay and doesn’t care about all of the upgrades you did, even if you are to provide receipts. Protect yourself, you have a lot wrapped up in it.

—-

Aside from the above…

Have you thought about what will happen if you have to take the car into a Ford Dealer for any service? Meaning, will they still be able to hook up to it and do any PCM updates or will the S650 to S550 updates prevent such service due to other conflicts?

Thank you for that, I'll look into it, very much appreciated and ya taught me something new

I don't plan on ever taking it to the dealer, I pulled the trans myself, I've pulled a motor on my other car i use to have and did a head gasket and timing job, so not worried about the dealer however if i were theoretically to take it, I've heard stories where they connected there computer, and it changed any coding used through forscan back to OE as it came, so haha proceed with caution but... I finally have the dash installed, still doing wiring but needed to see progress to stay motivated and i can already say... I REGRET THIS SWAP LOL all jokes aside the stupid chime will not stop since i wired the speaker because of the parking brake thinking its engaged even though nothing is there lol

Can you turn off the parking chime via Forscan - or maybe change the code to mute” it?

Yea but to be honest, i honestly got use to it that i dont even know its on, and whats funny is out of everything that works so far, there is one issue i ran into and can't figure out how to surpass it, the stupid headlight switch lol literately the ONLY thing that ford changed and make it send a signal to the bcm vis im assuming canbus where the bcm controls the lights vs the switch itself

Alright so stupid Alldata pissed me off lol, I got the A/C to work except.. the stupid mode to switch from center vent to windshield and floor, was stuck on center and would not change, me thinking it was a forscan error (wasn't but I did get to change it from dual to single climate and auto to manual climate but kept it at auto since it didn't really change anything), it was the stupid wiring diagram that had an error and I only caught it because the connector wiring was different then the circuit diagram, so on the S650 circuit, the positive and negative are actually SWITCHED meaning POSITIVE is actually the NEGATIVE and vice versa! It fixed my issue

So yellow goes to blu/grn and white goes to grn/brn
Everything works now except a few bugs i still need to work out

As for the bugs... traction button doesn't work, I still haven't tested the steering wheel controls as I need to make a custom bracket for my quick release, the hazard button works but only turns on first push and automatically turns off as if its a momentarily vs latching, and the volume doesn't display, simple issues but the whole swap works like 90%

I posted on the 7g forums and fixed a couple bugs, so for the hazard was actually a simple fix, so basically going from a base model calculator to a S650 dash conversion you wouldn't have to change coding but since i went from calculator to 8" sync 3 and then to a s650 dash, the 8" sync 3 has toggle switches for the hazard, only took a quick change in forscan from momentary to latching and hazards work now, for the audio it took lots of changing as on our s550s i had posted a thread for this but for the 8" swap https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/19-4-to-8-upgrade-volume-not-working.180206/
So ours is in the 727-01-01 line where on the s650 the volume display is in the APIM 7D0-01-01 line, heres the changes before

After - after pulling s650 as built data from a 24 with a 103a package

My new headlight switch finally came in, so lots of diagrams and research and the 2024 S650 as well as every new sync 4 ford headlight switch wont work due to having a LIN connection for the connector, so I resorted to a 2019 Lincoln Navigator Headlight Switch that kinda fit and then with trimming it definitely fit, anyways I went this route because it came with its own bezel that ties in the trunk switch together and it doesn't look cheap unlike the s650 stock switch so i will epoxy the bezel to the panel tomorrow now that trimming is done, I know theres a gap too... i can only do so much with a blade lol, but it'll be facing down when installed anyways so unless you on your knees looking straight on, I don't think itll be a issue lol

Not perfect sadly but its the only solution i could find, maybe if I want to in the future, I could make a switch panel instead with sleek black buttons and go "race car" lol

I’m curious and since I’m not on the up and up with the S650’s - what is the difference between the (2) types of available dash displays?

I’ve seen the (2) display type like what you’re doing where they are separated. Then I’ve seen what appears to be another display type that is longer or maybe even 1 long display where there is not that much of a gap between the gauge display and the center display.

Exactly my reason for going dual screens lol there is no difference really besides the physical gap, the virtual gap is still there between both models which is dumb but the single screen is also like our digital clusters meaning $$$, i got both of mine separately but together $400 vs starting for a clean used one for $900+ and ford in 2025 I believe started to make the single screen its own package no matter of trim i believe starting at $1000+ but another thing i noticed is mustangs with the double screen also get like plastic dash vs single screen gets a leather dash and a different radio center stack bezel where it meets the screen

Yee the single screen expensive and really isn't anything special to be honest, just a bragging right

Got the old S550 switch panel from 777Drift modified to fit the S650 Switches and will get them wired up tomorrow!

@WolfMxbee You encouraged me to try fitting an S650 cluster into my S550. The plan is to run it with the S550 digital dash bezel, plus the S550 SCCM and steering wheel buttons. I’ll almost certainly need some kind of CAN bus proxy to translate the S550 bus messages into a format the S650 cluster understands. I already have the module, and the display is on the way.
