Has anyone speed shifted in the PP yet? Would you recommended it? Speed shifting is when you dont take your foot off the gas right?

That's called power shifting. Speed shifting is really just shifting fast, no special technique there. Power shifting is when you stay WOT while still using the clutch and shifting as fast as possible.

PP vs. non-PP makes no difference here, same drivetrains.

Some of the tuners can program for no lift shifts, shouldn't hurt much when done properly.

wait, subaru? notoriously weak awd transmissions?

Not sure on the durability of the MT82, but if the ecoboost has the same case as the GT, I'd bet they are pretty sturdy.

Im not sure if you've been around since 2011 lol but the MT82s dont have a great history either. Point he's making is, Subaru trans or not, you take this risk when trying to do this. By all means attempt it and report back over time and see how it works out lol Not all things are equal , one guy may be able to beat the hell out of his trans for 100k miles and not have an issue, and then the other guy tries it once and ends up limping his shit home lol

I used to shift my SRT-4 at WOT quite frequently without issue, just had to be very fast about it so you didn't hit fuel cut off. But it was turbocharged, I'm sure an Ecoboost would benefit from it, if you could keep the turbo spooled, not so sure with a GT or V6.

I used to power shift my 2011, never had any problems with the MT-82. I didn't shift like that often, and I wasn't drag racing either. I think the MT-82 got a bad reputation because people with problems are a lot more vocal than people that have none.

Me too with 430whp and no issues in fact Dodge added a Wot shift feature to the pcm so you could hold boost . Just gotta do it right and don't F up.

The subaru 5 speed in the WRX has got to be one of the worst and weakest transmissions around. I have owned manyof them and thankfully never geranded the transmission.

Biggest thing to worry about is making sure you are fully pressing the clutch all the way to the floor. I lift slightly when I shift but as long as I'm smooth I can shift pretty quick. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast. I have some videos of me at the strip I can post later.

Like others said, it should be a benefit for the ecoboost, and if the trans can hold up to the power some of the v-8's have put out, shouldn't be any problems for us 4 cyl guys.

I enjoyed "chirping" 2nd in my '94 GT. So I figured I would give it a try in the S550. I did it day before yesterday in my PP GT W/3.73's. I had not problem from first to second. I got substantial wheel spin for a second, gripped the pavement like super glue (OUTSIDE TEMP 73 DEGREES). from there I let the rpm come down and shifted to 4th to level out even more as I was moving towards traffic. I put it back into 3rd and continued normal driving. I wouldn't do it often unless I was on the track... but again, I had no problem.
