Pretty much what the title says... looking for recommendations for smoked tails for a Grabber Blue EB Vert. Or, on the flip side, any brands I should avoid like the plague?

I installed Form smoked taillights and they're awesome. Great quality, perfect fit and work flawlessly.

Ok, thanks for that. I was looking at Form, just didn't know anything about them.

Do some searches on this site, you’ll find threads and comments about it. There are some brands that had issues within the first year or so, particularly with the finish peeling. I don’t remember the brand(s) off the top of my head but a quick search should pull it up.

On the flip side, Ford Performance makes the clear taillights if you want to go that route. OEM quality so you shouldn’t have any issues

I bought a tint kit from American Muscle and installed it myself. Looked awesome for a few years but over time the tint film has started to turn hazy and dull. It was cheap enough that I may just peel them off and look for another kit with better quality UV film.

Stay away from Winjet. I had 3 sets in a little over a year. Every set had the clearcoat fail on them. I eventually gave up on smoked and just bought the Ford Performance clear lights. So far I haven't had any issues with them. If I wanted to go back to smoked, I would buy Form Lighting's version.

An option for you is to call your local paint guy. Mine did my F150 for $50 a pair. After he did mine I saw a painted smoke tint in Autozone for $20. First you sand them down with 1,ooo grit. The best thing about doing it yourself is you dont have to worry about them being too dark.

Please explain this. Are you saying the paint shop painted the taillights darker than you wanted? Do you have a picture of your taillights?

My CS tail lights came 'smoked' from the factory. IIRC, the 50th anniversary ones are the same.
