HOW TO: Swap PP gauges into standard model

Hi, from the reading I have done on this forum I don't think that the 2015 models have the wiring.

The dashboards gauge cluster is directly linked to the same module that shows the gauge values in the digital dashboard. If you have the digital dash, go to the "Mustang button" > Gauges and check what readings are there. If there's no reading on the analogue cluster, but there are normal values on the digital dash, then maybe connection or the analogue gauge thing has died.
I can't distinguish by the picture, but it seems the dash gauges are not backlit as well, which makes me believe that the analogue gauge module has just died...

I figured out the problem, thanks everyone. There was a voltage drop error due to the car being parked for a long time.

Yeah, I feel you. It has been a pain in the a.. to get them properly in. I think you have to first align the air ducts and lower part. It took me about 30min just to get it right, very annoying...

I would be interested in installing these gauges but in a remote location, perhaps like a gauge pod above the vents. I’m not a fan of the hack job required to put them in the original location.

There is a thread on this forum about a member designing a gauge pod that fits on top of the dash speaker grill area similar to earlier gen mustangs used.

It might even be somewhere in this thread also.

That is not the one I was talking about; it was just a pod for 2 gauges and set on a raised pedestal in the speaker grill area.

I have tried searching for the thread but have had no luck finding it.

It IMO did not look bad or out of place.

I found it and I was wrong it is a 3-gauge pod. Its post #4.

Yeah I did follow that thread and it’s what got me thinking about doing that as opposed to the method in this thread. I get the desire to make it “look” factory by using the PP trim panel but the real “right way” to do it is replacing much more. I know you can close off the center vent and all that. But I also like the idea of keeping the three vents. So a pod in the center speaker area, with a harness extension (if even needed) sounds like it could be a good alternative method.

I have the same thoughts as you about swapping in the gauges like in this thread as well. I just hate to cobble up the dash and possibly make a mistake that then means the whole dash would need removed to fix the mistake. I also like the 3 vents.

I like the look of the pod on top of the dash as well.
