Hello everyone.

I have a 2017 GT PP, and yesterday on my drive home from work I got a check engine light on my car. I immediately ran to my parents house to get a code on it, and it read p0308 Cylinder 8 Misfire.

I couldn’t feel a certain thing and it felt like it was driving normal, so I cleared the code to see if it was a glitch or wasn’t actually misfiring consistently bc it drives and idles fine.

I cleared the code yesterday like 30 hours ago and have driven almost 100 miles since and it hasn’t come on and even deleted off the “permanent code” section on my scanner.

I am due for spark plugs and i think I’ll do coil packs as well soon after my vacation next week.

I’ve been just driving it normally, should I be worried? I’m waiting for it to pop back up. Like I said it drives exactly normal, nothing unusual to me at all.

Please let me know what you think. Thanks

With that little bit of information, no, I wouldn't worry personally.
If it were to return I'd still not freak out. Unless the CEL is flashing while driving you're very unlikely to cause any harm.
If it returns I would suggest putting it on a bidirectional scan tool. One with the ability to read live data. That will provide far more information on what's going on than a simple code reader.

Okay. I’m just overthinking it. I thought it was weird it got deleted from the permanent code section on my scanner after a few drives

Is your motor stock? If it comes back especially with a P0300 code as well, it could be the Intake runner control rod is broken.

The P0300 is for random misfires.

My son's 2015 had the same codes, no running issues, but had the broken rod. I fixed it myself after researching the issue on here.

I did all the things you mentioned as well: new plugs, coil packs etc..., but the codes persisted.

Here is a thread on the repair if interested/needed:

Fortunately no code for p0300. Just p0308.

Still hasn’t come back either. Been driving to and from everywhere and nothing yet. I am worried about the IMRC being broken though

This could be a glitch, or a slightly loose connection at the coil.
