I recommend this. Serves me well. Doesn't leak. Although I added an O-ring to the inlet cap just in case.

If you get one, open the outlet cap and shake out any loose plastic bits.

I use the same one, I put some coarse filter foam in side of it so that the oil doesn’t splash out since the gen 3s dump the oil so quickly . It works pretty well.

Huh?

I use the Ronin drain plug, and then added a clear vinyl tube to it. Photo shows tube over the drain pain. But I have even inserted the tube directly into an empty 5-quart oil jug and skipped the drain pan altogether.

Thanks! I tend to put off recycling trips.

After a change, I pour oil from the drain pan back into the now empty 5 quart jugs used to refill the engine. Those 5 QT jugs take up more square inches on floor or shelf, are multiple leak sources while transporting and multiple funnel gymnastics filling the 5 qts.

I am a little annoyed you didn't post that back when they were going for $7.50 3rd party on Amazon. LoL

I would use the Femco drain which I prefer over the Ronan but don't think I'd like monitoring and shutting off the flow whenever a 5qt jug gets full. Also, find oil change simpler on a ramp instead of the Quick Jack. Ramp doesn't leave room for an upright 5qt jug. Lastly, I wouldn't be able to use the jugs from the new oil to drain into because they are still full of new oil until after the drain.

My Quickjacks are high enough for the 5 gallon jugs. I keep a few of the old empties. Good thing too because Autozone's oil tank was full so I just dropped off the jugs. Instead of having to return with my drain pan.

It is easy to control the flowrate with the Ronin. Slower than the removed OEM plug but the 5 gallon jug fills fast enough to not bother coming out from under the car to change to another jug.

I understand. For me its easier and quicker to drive it up my ramps than use the Quick Jack to changer oil. The tilt from the ramps helps get as much as possible out of the pan, but admittedly probably an ounce at best?

Yeah probably.
I think I leave a quart in my auxiliary oil cooler every change. It is valved off at street temperatures.

I swapped the factory trans fluid with BG Syncro Shift II today. Scraped a knuckle breaking the fill plug loose yesterday, but besides that all went well. The BG kit with the pump bottle worked perfectly. Just as I finished the rain came, so no test drive.

Just a quick update: Yesterday first 8 mile drive - not impressed. Second 35 mile drive - towards the end really impressed, wow this is nice! Today's 15 mile drive - this is awesome, super smooth shifts. Towards the end I got on it and did some 5K hard shifts. 2nd to3rd and 3rd to 4th grinds are gone. It really feels like a different transmission.

Drove it this morning.
Another killer day out here in the Northeast. Early Fall is slowly becoming one of my favorite seasons. Cool in the morning and nights and gorgeous during the daylight hours.

BOOST WEATHER! 😎
Tomorrows looking good too ☀

Gave her a good wash and detailed door jambs, inner trunk drain paths, under the hood. Will be taking the Mrs. out for a drive and dinner later.

I've had bad luck keeping her clean lately. Went to Cracker Barrel for lunch and a crew of maniacs came with mega blowers and blew all the dust off the parking lot, over and over. Dust all over every car in the lot. I was steamed and I wasn't the only one.

Got her cleaned up and the next time out got behind a grading crew that was leveling the shoulder and thus getting dirt all over the road. Drove in the dust storm to the next road and turned off. Then I had to drive where a tractor had crossed and got wet mud or manure all over the road. It's all good though, I enjoy cleaning her.
