As the title says I have a 2019 gt pp1 I just got my hands on a set of the ford performance street lowering springs with the 1" drop. I'm mostly putting the springs in for looks. I have had lowered cars and understand the ride will be alittle more harsh but just wondered before I installed them just how bad it will be? Me and my wife take this car on all our summer road trips and a few nights here and there of hard pulls down in "mexico". My car is about to have 50k miles on it i was wondering if I should just wait till I have the money to get new shocks and struts or if I should just send it on the stock stuff. Any help is very appreciated

Your probably fine on stock struts for a while. I rode mine on stock struts for over a year and when I took them off they were still in good condition.

Ride will definitely be a bit harsher. I noticed mine was a bit bouncy over bumps with the stock struts. I added the Ford performance track struts and ultralite linear springs. Definitely got ride of the bounce.

The ford performance ones barely lower the car and barely change the ride quality. Mine son eibach sportlines which is the lowest of the springs and rides damn near stock still. If your shooting for Cadillac comfort t these cars have never had it. It will ride basically the same. Don’t worry.

At 50k you’re due for shocks. Most OEM shocks are completely done at 60k miles. 30k is even starting to get up there. The difference happens so slowly many dont notice but putting fresh shocks in will be night and day.

+1 stick to Ford OE dampers Ford Performance ones are probably best balance of comfort and performance. I went through three sets of dampers (DIY) before reverting back to OE so many aftermarket QC and durability issues what a waste of time luckily found PP2 damper takes off $200.

Appreciate all the responses! I'm going to just put in new shocks and struts next summer since I live in lower new york the car is going to be sitting all winter anyway. Only other question i had was after you guys lowered your car did you need to buy the rear adjustable arms to get your alignment good or was it OK with stock equipment?

Stock equipment is fine. The adjustable arms make the job a bit easier, but you’re paying for someone else to do that alignment job and they arent going to give you any sort of discount for having those arms.

If you’re doing your own alignments, and a lot of them, then maybe.

I have the Eibach sportlines also and mine got a little hard so I'm installing some Viking double adjustables on the rear

So what are you going to do, I lowered mine first to see
how it felt and, it was a little rough then I added the Vikings
I'm going to see what I have time for i got alot of stuff going on in the next few weekends so not sure when im going to have time to do the work and unfortunately by the time November rolls around I need to put her away for the winter. So its kind of looking like imma wait till next year and see what kind of deals I can get in the off season for shocks and struts but ill keep you guys posted.

If mine did it’s not enough to even notice. It’s a sports car not a Lincoln lol… 🤦🏼‍♂️😂

Looking at doing the Steeda progressives on current stock suspension. I’m not pushing the car as those days are behind me. Will update them as they come due. Good luck with yours! Also in the NY area.
