VMP just came out with a new overflow bottle that is all plastic with a black top half and uses the factory fill cap. Looks nice and is supposed to be a slightly smaller overall size than the factory bottle requires. Ordered mine this morning.

Late to the thread, but what I ended up doing with my car was lightly modifying a Gen 4 engine cover to fit. Debating on if I want to paint match it grabber blue at some point

What did you have to do to make it fit?

My wife and I just got into car shows this year, thanks to an invite from an older couple we struck up a conversation with at a previous event. We're both in our 40s, but we genuinely enjoy hanging out with folks in their 60s, 70s, and 80s, guess you could say we're old souls.

That said, I’ll admit, I wouldn’t mind winning at least once. I spend hours detailing my Mach 1, only to watch cars from the ’60s with oil leaks and stuffed animals on the dash take home the trophies, just because they’ve got a Chevelle badge or some other classic nameplate. I’ve even overheard people walk by and say, “Oh, it’s just a sticker package,” even though mine’s the only 2021–2023 Mach 1 at the entire show.

Honestly, I just wish there was more I could do under the hood besides swapping coolant tank covers or caps.

Anyway, rant over.

Not much modification was needed thankfully, I had to remove the factory “powered by ford” dress up pieces so the cover could lay relatively flush. Once I had the cover where I wanted it, I pressed down on it slightly to help mark up the underside so I had a better idea of where to drill my holes. Once I knew where the existing screws were making contact, I then drilled two small holes and slowly worked up the size until I was able to fit two m6x15mm hex sockets through and attach the cover to the existing screws/mounting points that held on the previous engine dress up pieces. You can also drill holes in the front to access the front screws for extra support, but I found that just the rear worked. I didn’t take to many detailed photos, put hopefully these images help.

Thanks, I actually like the new covers, I will most likely pick one up now that I know it can be made to work.

Mach1's are great looking cars. I've been the only Mach1 at several shows. A lot of car shows have awards for the top 20. Nostalgia for the old muscle cars and classics runs strong. The only time new cars win is when the show has categories for makes, models, or years. Like almost everybody, I don't go to shows to win trophies. I go to meet people and spend time talking cars...but It sure is nice when you do win a trophy. To know other people appreciate your car as much as you do.

I 100% go for the people and car talk, but to your point it would be nice to know it's a little bit appreciated. I did have a 63 Split Window Corvette owner come over to compliment my car, he "he'd definitely get in trouble with it". That made my day.
